I've read since I was old enough to read. I was a right little bookworm as a kid. Lately I've spent so much time on social media that my reading has taken a back seat and become sporadic. I'm changing that by putting social media on the back seat and spending more time with my nose in a book. I'm far happier this way.

Never, ever would I stop reading. They say that, when I die, people will send books instead of flowers & I will reach over for one. It will keep me from being bored.I read anything except romances and the bigger the book the better.
I've been reading since I was a little kid. Maybe 4 or 5, my mother would take me to the library and I'd sit in on the story time they had then get lost in the stacks reading what I could. I grew up in a family of voracious readers and when visiting with other family members they's sit around chit chatting about a lot of things and books they were reading were a big subject that, if you wanted to be a part of the conversation, you wanted to read and join in. My love for reading has only grown since I was a kid. It's such an amazing way to explore the world both fictional and non fictional through another person's eyes. What's interesting is the perspective of what all these characters and worlds look like in each reader's mind.I feel another great format for kids to read is comics. I got my daughter hooked on them when she was little and they expanded her vocabulary which helped her in her reading of novels and such. She is one smart cookie now-a-days, and a school teacher as profession. So yeah, keep reading and great things will follow :o)
I grew up in the era when reading was the most important part of learning. Started reading in 1st grade at age of 4 and haven't stopped at age---now.
So, my mom has always loved reading. And her father has too. So I'm thinking it's a sort of genetic thing. My mom also would constantly encourage my siblings and I to read; often taking us to the library for hours at a time after school. So yeah.Oh, obviously I love reading because of all the other cliche and cheesy answers. It's a sort of escape. My home, away from home. As Will Herondale himself put it, "They could be honest with me and I with them", and "we live and breathe words."
And as Juliette Ferrars said, "I spent my life folded between the pages of books."
It's a beautiful experience I will never regret.
I love reading because it’s the easiest way to escape one’s life and explore new experiences etc and to learn new things…perhaps because my parents read to me….
