Marian (gramma) | 24 comments We are having a late spring here in Northern OH & it is so frustrating. We had a warm spell earlier & that brought out the flowering apples & cherries & the tulips are blooming, also violets, bluebells & forget-me nots. But then it turned cold again! Most of the week it's been in the 40's & 50's with a cold NW wind off the lake. I had started to bring out my begonias & geraniums & other stuff that spend the winter in my window sills, but its too cold. And the seed I started in pots should be set outside because they're starting to get leggy.

Then I watch the Weather Channel & see how other people are having tornadoes & really bad storms & I probably shouldn't complain.

How's the weather in your part of the country?

well i absolutely can't complain about so.cal
we've had a few days of cloudy gloomy weather with highs in the 60's
a few days of cloudy gloomy weather with sunshine breaking out in the afternoon with highs in the high 60's
but this is unusual
sunshine and 70's and 80's are the norm around here
so that's why i can talk about everything i am planting
but i do sympathize with those in colder climes having lived the majority of my life in maine
i remember many a may with sweaters and scarfs if not jackets and gloves
and not planting anything outside until june

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) the last of 5 inches of rain has finally stopped falling here!

friday was cold (40's), windy & 2 1/2 inches of rain - down right nasty ~ sat was a bit warmer but cloudy & windy ~ sun was in the 50's w/a little bit of sun but windy ~ today was more windy than friday, cold and 2 1/2 more inches of rain! lots of damage from the wind this time around though & thank goodness we haven't lost power!

tomorrow's supposed to be 70 degrees. go figure!

Marian (gramma) | 24 comments We had a couple of warm days & I set some flowers outside in their containers. (Petunias, geraniums, snapdragons, verbena, coleus, begonia & filler & trailing plants.) So then it turned cold again, north wind & temp. staying in the low 50's. Everything looks a little wilted, so I watered, but they still seem unhappy. It's supposed to warm up for the week-end. Hope it's not too late.

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) they'll do just fine! most of those are hardy so while they may not like the cooler temps, they'll do just fine when the temps warm up!
