As per your request. You were in luck, I'm home sick today and was able to make use of our pre-made ebay backdrop ;)

This is Great! Thank you so much. I may have to ask your permission in the near future to use your images for a blog post about keeping a reading journal and I will have to check out the new sharpie ink.

Daphne (daphne2163) Sea - You have inspired me to begin journaling about my books. It is a perfect pairing to my reading and will add pleasure to my favorite hobby! I just received my Moleskin journal and I am excited to fill in information for all of my 2010 reads. BTW, I love your website! Thanks for the great idea. Daphne

Kimberly I've tried keeping a reading journal but life always seems to get in the way and it becomes more of a chore but I've been bouncing the idea of having one again in my head and I think I'l going to start doing it again =]

I can completely understand that situation. I keep my reading journal open with a pen right with me whenever I read. That way its so easy!

I did order two - the Woodstock commemorative journals. I'm going to turn one into a book journal, and I'm getting ideas here on how to set it it.

GREAT topic.

I ordered a journal, just because of this thread, and will start as soon as it comes. Anyone have any suggestions on what sorts of things, other than books read and bought, I might keep in the journal?

Personally, I enjoy keeping track of a few things, such as:

1. Quotes from the book
2. Author
3. Publisher
4. Year published
5. where i got the book or if it was a gift, recommendation, etc.
6. other notes such as if it reminded me of something or if I recommended it to someone else
7. the date i started reading and ended reading
8. my overall liking/disliking

Agnes Good ideas, and thank you.

Kathleen Duffy (kathleenduffy) I don't keep a regular journal of what I read, but I do keep a list on my blog. If a book resonates well with me, I'll write a post about it:

Shawn | 153 comments Ever since I graduated from high school eight years ago, I've kept a spreadsheet (originally; now I just use this group) of every book I've read, the date I finished it, and who recommended it to me if someone did.

But this thread has inspired me, and I think I will pick up one of those moleskine book journals--I'm a sucker for moleskines and similar notebooks--and keep some additional information like you guys have mentioned. I may also post a short review on my blog if I think of something I'd like to say publicly.

P. (shimizusan) | 131 comments For 5 years I kept journals on what I read. The act of actually writing down your thoughts is priceless next to the 'blog' that I have had now for some 6 months: http://shimizu-star.spaces.live.com/

I still prefer manually writing in my journal and I keep one even though I type most of my stuff up onto the blog.
