What about books with characters who have a bad reputation? They could or could not deserve the reputation.

Simon of Navarre from Lord of Danger by Anne Stuart is suspected of being a wizard that dabbles in Black Magic.

The Devil's Possession by Heather Waters has a similar theme.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Oh, Royce (the Wolf) from A Kingdom of Dreams

Julie (floresji) | 31 comments Dhestiny, that's a great one. I love that story!:)

message 5: by new_user (new)

new_user Oh, I like this theme too. When the reputation's earned, that is. *wiggles eyebrows*

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish How could I have forgotten my main squeeze, Z? Zsadist from the Black Dagger Brotherhood. *sigh* He's so misunderstood.

On the same theme (dark wizard) is This Is All I Ask by Lynn Kurland.

Where the hero has a bad repution in general (usually known as assasin, murderer or too many duels):
To Love a Dark Lord by Anne Stuart - murderer, duels
Angel by Johanna Lindsey - assasin, gunfighter
Dance With The Devil by Sherilyn Kenyon (PNR) - assasin
Play Dirty by Sandra Brown - ex-prisoner
Ice Storm by Anne Stuart - terrorist
Born in Sin by Kinley MacGregor - assasin
The Devil You Know by Liz Carlyle - too many duels, womaniser
Nothing Denied by Jess Michaels (erotica) - murderer
Too Wicked to Tame by Sophie Jordan - murderer, mad
Dark Needs At Night's Edge by Kresley Cole (PNR) - assasin
Perfect by Judith McNaught - murderer
One Night of Scandal by Teresa Medeiros - murderer

NU, I have The Ravenclift on the tbr. Love Bride and the Beast.

message 17: by new_user (new)

new_user Yeah, they're both pretty light reads. I liked Bride and the Beast better.

I also love Bride and the Beast. It's my favorite Medeiros book.

I haven't read Nothing Denied yet Danielle, but I've ordered it and it's on the way. I'll let you know when I'm done with it, but so far I've enjoyed Michaels' writing even when I'm not so fond of her stories.

Shannon (Savhage Temptrest) (savhagetemptress) | 32 comments Zsadist, of course, from the BDB Series by JR Ward! That lovely, lovely tortured man! Hmmmm.....

Nykyrian from Born of Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon
-Yes, he's an assassin, but he has feeling too and he's totally fantastic!

Jonas Wyatt from the Breed Series by Lora Leigh
-Ok, he totally deserves his rep because he's completely manipulative and conniving, but he always plays his games to better the Breed Community. Plus, he's just yummy and totally squeezable with his primal lion self!

Ian from the Night Huntress Series
-A total manipulator, double-dealing, liar of a vamp who is a scrupulous businessman. He's also total smokin hot, sarcastic, British, and pierced. The possibilites are endless!

Dmitri from the Guild Hunters Series by Nalini Singh
-He enjoys inflicting and receiving pain. He's a vampire who will do anything to keep his Archangel safe no matter what he has to do. He also smells of sex and chocolate which just sums up his appeal regardless of his reputation!

Zane from The Succubus Diaries Series by Jill Myles
-He did do some questionable things with Jackie and is insulting to most things female, but underneath his rough exterior he's a keeper!

I'm sure I'm forgetting a few, but these guys come to mind at present! LOL

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Shannon - are you looking forward to Jonas' story as much as I am? Lion's Heat I'm so looking forward to him having to deal with his mate. LOL

--I read the synopsis and a couple of reviews, and I decided to order it last night. Hopefully we'll both like it, Fani.

Oh yes, Uniquely! I just can't wait to see what LL has in store for that sexy lion!

Noah in Starstruck Hunter by Michelle Lauren was wrongly accused of a crime and went to prison for it.

message 24: by willaful (new)

willaful One Summer by Karen Robards is a great contemporary -- the hero is convicted of a crime -- wrongly, IIRC -- and the heroine is his former teacher.

Andrea Jackson (paperbackdiva) | 181 comments Zeus, a mercenary in On the Edge of Love On the Edge of Love (Mama's Brood, #1) by Shay Rucker definitely deserved his rep.
