we ladies of the office went to the farmer's market several blocks away at lunch time
i purchased some fresh cherries to eat right away
and 3 herb plants in 6 inch pots
very healthy specimens
i got spearmint
cilantro
and oregano
tomorrow's my day off and i am going to put them in larger pots on the patio

whew
i found terra cotta 16" pots for under $10 a piece and planted the herbs
i think the soil i used is too rich
however i mixed some mulch for aeration and will have to watch and maybe repot with a less rich mix
i just got in after repotting a bunch of things, rearranging
container gardening is just as much work as rows
but i did like that i could sit in a chair when i got to the large pots
my back was hollering

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) just read an article in country woman magazine about growing herbs for brewing your own tea & i think i may give it a try!

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) it appears that me lemon balm has bit the dust! well, it lasted through 2 moves that uprooted it from the ground & 1 season in a pot ~ i think i had it a total of 4 years. it's a bit sad though! when ever it got really tall, i'd cut a bunch and put a vase of it in the kitchen and 1 in the bedroom ~ the scent was lovely! guess i have to add this to my herb list this year!
