Debra Jo Reads (debrajo) I am new to the group. I have a question about the challenges, can the books we read be YA/NA or just Women's Lit?

Ditika | 8 comments Hello everyone, I'm Ditika and I love everything romance especially anything by Jennifer Crusie although I do have my pet peeves about romance novels (like how the characters fall in love at the drop of a hat *rolls eyes* and when the writing isn't snappy and fun to read also I can't bear generic sappy story lines) and I think we need a revolution in this genre :Pp
That being said I adore a good happily ever after because at least in the books everything should end hunky dory. Excited to be here :))

Earl DeVere | 6 comments Hey all you nice people! Love your active group and plan to join you in some challenges and fun! Not to mention, I love happy endings.

Little about me, I am a published poet and screenwriter. Former Army officer. Former International economic analyst. Lover of doggies and kiddos but not kitties too much. Grunge rocking Gen Xer. Read my bio for a bit more.

I am launching my first debut book in May 2018. It is called PAST FURY TO PRESENT HURRY a novel collection of 4 original high concept screenplays with a graphic novel feel due to 50 powerful art illustrations created just for my book.

Due to my screenplays as literature idea and being a new author with cross or multi genre stories, traditional publishers are a wee bit nervous taking a risk on me. Hence, PAST FURY TO PRESENT HURRY will be self published through Archway Publishind, a division of Simon Schuster on 1 May 2018.

Three of four screenplay stories are complete and waiting on editing. My editor is a terrific lady and has edited two Newberry Award winning books and two National Book Award finalists along with extensive work in television and film on such shows as Gossip Girls and Vampire Diaries. Final editing begins in mid November due to her busy schedule and my personal move and house ssle.

A very talented British graphic artist has been contracted for the 50 illustrations and begins work in 3 weeks. His background is in video game illustration but is also publishing a book on fine art next year.

I would love to publish sooner but I am making a high quality book for you lovely readers and having to pay out of pocket for it. So look to 1 May. And wish me luck!

Stories in my book will appear in the following order, the historical epic JANISSARY, the political thriller drama THE PLATOS ASENSCION BRIEF, the historical action drama romance THE PARTISANS LOVER, and, the unfinished and busting my mental butt to get it ready, historical epic on the Fourth Crusade titled ON THE WALLS OF CHRIST.

Some great stories there for you that I hope you will love. All contain Romance to a greater or lesser extent. But sadly not all are happy endings! Most do though! I love happy endings too!

If interested, I can share more. Ask and yee shall receive!

Earl DeVere

And yes I love to read! And writers need distractions so we can procrastinate! 😊

Earl DeVere | 6 comments Hey all! Thanks for the welcome! Feel free to send me friends requests if you want. Just mention this group so I know where we met...i am new to Goodreads but NOT new to reviewing which Ive been doing for over 15 years now, off and on.

And appreciate your welcome. So love Happily Ever After endings! They do not always happen but they are my favorite. Speaking of which my ex girlfriend of five years Nataliya and I are talking again, a happily ever after there? Hope so. Wars and poverty and fears of glights have krpt us apart.

message 1719: by HEA (new)

HEA is Everything (heaiseverything) | 5 comments Hello everyone
I don't really want to give out my name but I'm currently 16 years old and you know being at this age I'll only read one type of book
Romance
And I only want to read HEA books because sometimes(all the time) I get too invested in a book and its characters and when it doesn't have a HEA I get depressed for a while over it
Do recommend me some YA HEA books preferably one that are age appropriate thank you :-)

message 1720: by Pamela(AllHoney), Fairy Godmother (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14527 comments Welcome, HEA! We are all about the HEA here. I can't help with the YA books since I read so few of them but someone here may be able to help. ☺

Adele (mooturtil) Hello my name is Adele. I'm an obsessive reader (avid just doesn't describe me well enough!).
I read mainly series books. i figure that way i will never run out of anything to read. My only problem is, when the series is in between books being released or when a series is completed.... but i seem to always find other things to read.
I LOVE everything Paranormal and Fantasy. I Read mainly PNR and UF, and PN Erotica. I have read some Sci-fi as well, but i keep coming back to vampire, werewolves and shifters (oh my!). and and I can't forget my other favourite.... Epic fantasy!!
hopefully i can get some recommendations as well as offer lots of them.
well i could go on forever so i should stop now. so i'll see you around the group!

Patsy Collins Hi,

Just found this group. I'm both a reader and a writer of romances with happy endings. I enjoy other forms of writing too, but sometimes it's good to pick up a book and know you're in for escapist entertainment that will leave the readers, and characters, happy.

Lyndol Burns Parrish (dixiebelle72) | 14 comments Hi, my name is Lyndol burns and I’m an avid Historical romance reader. I literally own 1000’s in ebook and physical form (no joking). I’ve been addicted to historical romances since I read my first one when I was 9 years old. I prefer HR’s that are not set in America but if it is a great book I will try it. My favorite theme is the extremely evil, jealous, scheming, self absorbed, petty female villain trying to steal the hero from the heroine like Lucinda Brants “Salt Bride” but I think I’ve read every single historical romance anywhere close to that theme that exists. I currently have been reading historical romances with a paranormal twist and of course It must have at least one evil villain in the book lol. When I say paranormal I don’t mean vampires or werewolves. More like special abilities, ghosts, demons, etc... but more about me. I’m retired US Navy and newly married. I grew up in Alabama on a cattle farm but now live in the smoky mountains with my husband and our Great Dane. My other passion in life other than reading historical romances is riding horses. If you would like to know anything else about me, need to borrow a book, or even a book suggestion please don’t hesitate to ask. I’m very outgoing and talkative lol. Have a wonderful day :)

Aashna K. (aashnak) | 1 comments Hey everyone,
My name’s Aashna and I a new author ( I can finally say this lol). It took me almost 3 years of procrastination and unexpected twists and turns of life, to finish my first book and I am beyond happy to see my thoughts become this book!!
I am publishing it in less than a month !! Eep!
I have always loved love and finding a way to share those stories twirling in my head has been one of the best feelings I have experienced so far. And now I want to share it to the world.
So here I am hoping to make new friends, share my stories, learn new things and talk about love, romance and happily ever after.
Cheers!!

I love reading romcom, romance, suspense, mystery, business and self development mostly but will read others if the synopsis is great.

I’m from Canada, mom of three, wife and cat mama. I work for myself as a house cleaner/organizer/gardener, and romance consultant. I love writing and will one day be published.

I love baking cheesecakes, the outdoors, and swim aerobics/Zumba.
