Tammy Bailey (tammylbailey) | 13 comments Hi. My name is Tammy L. Bailey, and I LOVE HEA's. In fact, I only watch/read movies/books that have a happy ending. I do suppose I should have heard what happened to Jack before sitting through three hours of Titanic, though.

Because of my love for all things HEA's, I write romance novels where the characters come together (and don't drown) in the end. My inspirations include Jane Austin & Walt Disney where I have a great love for fairy tales. Beauty & the Beast is my go-to indulgence. I could talk all day about Romance & HEA's, but reality calls.

Tammy Bailey (tammylbailey) | 13 comments Oh My Gosh! I can't believe I spelled Jane's last name wrong. I meant Jane Austen. My nephew's name is Austin. All if forgiven...I hope.

Roberta2 | 17 comments I just joined--my name is Roberta and I love HEAs in both books and movies. I love Regency, Victorian, Westerns, some Medievals, and occasionally read contemporary. I prefer historicals because they are even more of an escape for me. Also like romantic suspense and romance with mystery.

Chris Fullerton | 4 comments Hi everyone! I've been a die hard romance reader since I was a teenager. My favorite author was Kathleen Woodikiss (am I dating myself here?) I loved reading epic tales of romance. 15 years ago I took a leave from work because my 3rd child was born early and didn't want to eat. (Someday, I'll write a book about that) Reading HEA romance books offset the stress and drudgery of hospital stays etc.
I've been a closet writer for years and decided a couple years ago to learn more about the craft of writing. I think that you HAVE to read a lot to write great stories. The problem is, there are so many books to choose from now (many are wonderful, many are horrible) and who has the time to waste on a badly written book? I've lurked in this group for a little while and I'm so thankful for the reviews and recommendations you all provide! I'm actually participating in my first challenge this year (Big Cities/Small towns) and I'm really curious how it goes, since I'm from a semi-small town (18,000) in Ohio.

I'm happy to be a part of this group! (Oh, and child #3 is now a thriving 16-year old, so the worry, prayers and sleepless nights on hospital chairs was entirely worth the stress).
Happy Reading!
Chris Anna

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Welcome to HEAC, Chris. I'm right there with you on Woodiwiss. LOL! Quite scandalous back in the day. Glad your "little one" is thriving now.

The little town I retired to had a pop of 7,736 in 2013. I bet we're up to 8,000 now, what with all the "baby boomers" retiring. A little less than the 1 million in my previous home town. :o)

D.B. Woodling Hi, I'm D.B. and a traditionally published author. I enjoy reading novels with strong, believable characters and an innovative plot. Lately, I've found many bestsellers very disappointing. So I rely quite a bit on input from my GR friends.

message 1526: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Hunter Hi there,

I'm both a romance reader and writer, and I'm here to discover new books, writers and ideas. Especially love to find new authors who write with emotional nuance and complexity--and don't have to rely on melodrama to make the plot move... though a little melodrama can be fun:)

/Rebecca

C. | 18 comments Hi Everyone, I'm Chris a 65 yr. old widow[since '98] and I still enjoy HEA[clean] romances because I enjoy reliving the fun/good times my hubby and I had!

I do not like a lot of ANGST in my romances, and if they have witty banter that is even better.

I also prefer closed bedroom door, but do want *sparks flying* chemistry, and great knee-weakening kisses!

Cowboys are my special weakness in romance reads, guess it's from my Air Force dad being stationed all around the west while I was a horse crazy kid, and my mom's people lived in MT, ID, WY, and WA. so I saw lots of hunky cowboys!

I enjoy reading many other genres as anyone can see from my profile, but Romance is probably #1, including Amish-themed romance. I live near the world's largest Amish community here in Ohio, and find their culture fascinating.
