Christine Danielle, I actually don't seek out themes for a story, and I can't think of any time where I've gone, Oh, I LOVE stories like this! I can tell you I don't like stories where people who knew each other in high school treat each other the same as when they were in high school, even ten years later. That drives me crazy. :)
Carol, I avoid the news sometimes, too. I hear ya.

A little wren has, very strangely, built a nest at the top of our palm tree, which now has baby birds. We have put chicken wire round the trunk to try and stop the cats reaching it, but a forlorn hope, I think.

Oo I don't think my brain has turned on yet. I gave up coffee a month ago and it's still reeling from the lack of caffeine...

I gave up both tea and coffee about a year ago as I felt they were irritating my digestive system. I have been incredibly improved since. However, I eat dark chocolate every day, which is perhaps compensating.

Very much like the idea of Happy Ever After stories. Find it difficult to watch the News these days as there is so much tragedy and suffering ..."
Hi Carol & all,
Carol - I just had to say that I share your feelings. Sometimes I get so down about some of the news reports that it really affects me for quite awhile. People close to me have told me to not read so much of it, I get so sad.
I am totally with you on sticking to reading fiction as well. That's also why I always stay with HEAs and why I love, love, love them. They are wonderful escapes from the heartbreak and difficulties of real life. I'm actually so sensitive, in fact, that I even stick to "lighter" subject matter in my HEAs (those I read & write) - if a book description indicates darker journeys/subject matter, it's a deal-breaker for me. I know lots of readers love that kind of thing, they want to be brought to tears, etc. I avoid that like the plague, lol! It's just too upsetting for me, even if things turn out ok in the end. I don't want that experience, even in the fictional realm.
I like staying in my happy, light, fun, hopelessly romantic place :)
Cheers fellow HEA-lovers!

I started reading romance novels when I was 10, I am..."
Harlequin Blaze is like catnip to me! ;) xo

I'm Adele. I love reading! Some of my favorites are, Jim Butcher, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Jennifer Crusie, Stephanie Meyer, Alice Hoffman, Carl Hiaasen, and Whitney Garcia Williams.
And I write.

I love a good HEA in my romances. Personally, I'm not one for epic, tortured, tragic love stories. They're just too depressing!"
Yes, thoroughly agree.

My tastes are all over the board. I love everything from Jane Austen, to Stephanie Meyer, to Terry Goodkind. As long as it has a romantic plot, I'm open.
I'm also a HUGE movie/tv buff. I swear I've watched every tv show from the last 25 years that had even the smallest romantic subplot. :) What does that say about my life!?! I swear I have one!
