I haven't yet gotten the "oh, you write THOSE books" comment yet, but I'm perfecting my eyebrows-drawn-down look and the confused tone for, "what do you mean?"Yeah. Explain yourself, I-feel-sorry-for-your-SO-if-you-feel-this-way-about-romance person.
Hi my name is Jo and I;m from New Zealand. I'm looking forward to discovering new authors and chatting to you all.
I work in a library when not home writing. Some of the customers have been so supportive when they hear I'm an author. Every so often, the conversation goes like this:Customer: "I hear you're a writer! How wonderful. What do you write?" (as I check out their stack of cozy English mysteries)
Me: "Romance!"
Customer: (backing away slowly) "Oh."

Hi, Everyone! I'm Jessi from Central Florida.I'm so happy to come across this group, just in time. I'm finishing a complete downer story right now. Despite its being very well written, I have promised not to do that to myself again for AWHILE. I don't mind a little 'bittersweet,' but give me a HEA for sure!
See you on the board!
Jessi
Hi, Jessi! I don't suppose you're a member of CFRWA? I was just at a chapter meeting Saturday. I'm in North Central Florida, so right above you.
Jessi, when you said you were finishing a downer, I thought you meant writing one. You meant reading, didn't you? *laugh*
Thank you Lisa!Abigail, that's funny. I wouldn't have thought to read 'writing' into that, but now that you say it, one who didn't know would not have known :)) LOL
I would love to take up more creative writing, and someday maybe even write a book. But alas, I'm more if a technical writer (I write grant proposals), and honestly am not a good story teller.
Hi! I'm Katheryn and I love HEA endings! I have written a few guest posts on authors' blogs about why I love them so much and my books always finish HEA. I mainly write sheikh romances so trying to get a HEA ending isn't easy as there are such huge cultural differences for the couple to overcomec, but they always manage it in end :)
Hi all! I'm an author of contemporary romances. My most recent release is KIDNAPPED COWBOY. You'll find humor in all of my books and most of them are set in small towns. If you like something that's a bit out there, check out my redneck romance, a.k.a hick-lit novel from Kensington Books - JIMMIE JOE JOHNSON: MANWHORE. Glad to be here.Lindsey
