Thank you for the welcome! I've already gone through many of the lists and added some books :-)

Hi there! I recently discovered romance novels thanks to my kindle, and I'm loving it! I'm happily married, 32, and always looking for new book suggestions!
Definitely a fan of HEA and thank you for allowing me to join this group.
Introducing me - I'm a new Historical Romance Author and have just released my five novel series - The Bartlemas Anthology. I'm terrible at returning library books and I'm actually a qualified historian (Uni of Oxford) but don't hold that against me please. Many historians loathe the concept of HEA, but I think it's the most important aspect of human existence - it's what we all want regardless of who we are.
If any group members are interested, I am a bit lost at present and am looking for reviews of the first book in the series "The Horseman's Desire". I'd be quite happy to email Kindle versions to readers in return for reviews and would be very grateful for the input. There is sex (in historical and romantic context) in the books, but the focus is on the relationships of ordinary people in extraordinary times. I have added the books to my bookshelf if anybody is interested (I truly hope that it doesn't make me look bigheaded as that's not the idea). Two friends have read the books and phoned me crying at certain points in the books, so I am assuming that they have the ability to invoke strong emotion (and of course a HEA) in every one of them!
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Ack! I missed Laura! Welcome aboard. And you, too, Lorraine. Did you release all five stories at once??? I can barely keep up with *one*!
Thanks for your welcomes Pamela and Abigail.
I did release all five at once - is that normal??
I'm a bit concerned that I might be overdoing it, but they're up there on Amazon now so it's done :)
I just realised that I finally have a "Fairy Godmother" in this Group and it made me smile.

Hi Laura ;-) Good to see you!!Hi Lorraine! Thanks for the heads up re: your books. You don't sound big-headed! Have you tried listing your books for free on Amazon and marketing through sites that feature free kindle books? I didn't exactly market mine but it kind of turn out that way by happy accident. I published/listed my book for free on Amazon last month so that a friend's book group could download it. A nice person (I'll never know who) posted a link to a facebook page with 60k+ subscribers. That was the catalyst for 8500 free downloads and a subsequent 79 amazon reviews/over 100 goodreads reviews in the last 3 weeks.
Feel free to PM me! I'm new to self-publishing too and am happy to share what I've learned in the last month ;-D
Sincerely, Penny
Hey, Lorraine, you do what you want to do. I would have been overwhelmed trying to market five books. Only you will know if you're overdoing it.Good luck!

How nice of you Penny - many thanks for that and I shall probably take you up on that offer to "pick your brains".

Hi, Misty! Congrats on your release.(Lorraine, did I congratulate you, too? I may have been bowled over by the amount of books. :)
Hi everyone, My name is Nichole. I actually joined a couple of months ago and decided to get over my shyness and introduce myself :) I just started really reading a few years ago. Now, if I'm not reading, I'm looking for more books to read, hehe. And of course, I love a HEA.
Welcome aboard, Nichole. I'm always interested when I see that someone started reading within the past few years. I used to devour about eight books a month (now writing takes up my time) so it's hard for me to fathom.
How did you start?
Thank you for the Welcomes :)Well Abigail, I had a friend at work that would read her lunch hour away. When we got back into the office we would always talk about the books and it finally caught on with me. That was about... oh wow, 9 years ago, but I was still only reading a few books a year. Then about 5 years ago I started with a fantasy series my husband recommended, the Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series by Tad Williams. I discovered Twilight shortly after that, yes I liked that book lol, and I've been reading ever since. I now read about 3 books a week.
Hi everyone! I'm Lisa. I'm new to goodreads - I followed a link on an authors facebook page and here I am! I have no idea what I'm doing, but so far I've netted a free book and met some people who love romance books as much as me. I'm thinking goodreads is a pretty cool place to be! :) Looking forward to getting to know you - and hearing all about new authors to read too. :D
Welcome, Lisa! Get ready to take over the world! I love hanging out here and talking romance.Nichole, thanks for sharing. I'm glad you've come over to our side. ;)
It's lovely to be here, thanks Pamela and Abigail!
Welcome to HEAC, Lorraine, Misty, & Nichole! Sorry I'm late on the welcome; I've had company and other commitments this week.
Thank you for having me! This sounds like a fun group. I am Rosanna Leo and I write erotic romance for Liquid Silver Books. I am a firm believer in HEA, both in my books and the ones I read. If I don't get an HEA, it nearly kills me. Can't do that again! LOL I look forward to browsing the threads and getting to know you all. Cheers!

Hi everybody, I'm Rachel from Pittsburgh, PA and I'm happy to have found a group of book lovers that love HEA's as much as I do!

Hello everyone! Im Arielle and I love HEA's and Im so glad to find this group! I always make sure that the books I read has a HEA or else I just explode in anger heheNice to meet you all!

Ooh, I've exploded before too, Arielle Rae! LOL Welcome.

Hi Arielle,
I think everyone deserves their HEA. I hate investing time, money, and - most of all - emotions into a book that doesn't give me a HEA. It doesn't always have to be what I expected, but it does need to be a good resolution that I can live with. I will even confess to sometimes peeking at the end before reading it, just to make sure I can live with the ending!
Pamela(AllHoney) wrote: "It's not a romance to me if there is no HEA. It's a tragedy."Amen to that, Pamela. I get too sucked in emotionally not to have a HEA!
Yay! More fans of the happily ever after! Welcome aboard! What drives me nuts is folks who insist their story is a romance, even without the HEA. There might be romance in it, but we need our happy endings!
I read a beautiful romance once, and when the characters didn't stay together at the end, I literally almost had a fit. I was bawling, and my husband thought I'd popped my cork.
When I was in h.s., I asked my English teacher why everything we read had a bummer-drag ending. He's said it's not literature if it ends happily! I happen to disagree. Why can't a book have depth and still end with happiness?
That's the dumbest thing I ever heard--it's not literature if it ends happily. Jane Austen has happy endings. For that matter, so does Shakespeare. Literature can have happy endings in my books.

I agree with you! But I've never forgotten that snob attitude, and I think too many Ivory Tower types share it. Sometimes I think too many people read certain books just to look smart or hip or whatever. I do read books of a more serious nature, mostly history books by writers like Alison Weir, but when I'm looking for entertainment, I want that warm glow of satisfaction that comes with a happy ending!
Sadly, it's the same types who usually bash romance for being too frothy and not deep enough. I'm sure Jane Austen would have loved some of the romances out there today! :)

Either that, or he's taking all the credit for her success!
