But I longed to pick it up, feel power between my fingers. But it was not I who picked it up... and brought it crashing back down.

The peanut butter jar was empty. They say that at some point in your life you come to the mystifying realization that you are alone in the world and have to do things for yourself. I had just come to that realization. Never before had the peanut butter jar been empty.

Summer "I wished every single day, that I'd get pulled into the back of a white van, and then they'd tell me that they knew what was happening, and that I was special. That was until it actually happened."

Not so random, I've bn thinking about a story going along those lines for awhile. It's not a creeper van, no worries.

Summer She was up on stage, turning, turning, till a large man, clothed in black bolted behind her and tripped the small balarina. She went tubling to the ground and the cloaked man ran out of view.

The lanky tree drooped over the girl. From a distance, she appeared to be dead though this was a falsehood. In fact, she was quite alive, except for the fact that time had stopped.

"A midnight colored drop of blood runs down the wall at the back of my bunk. As the rounding glare of the lighthouse's beacon catches the bit of fluid it shines the red like a sparkling ruby. The person in the bed above me, is obviously, dead."

I had a matchstick stuck in my shoe. Don't ask me how it got there, because I have no idea. All I know is that now, I'm a suspected terrorist.

Death lurks around every corner, waiting in the darkness. The story of life is nothing more than the lucky times the hero out runs what's waiting around every turn. For me though, the story ends every two pages. For me, death has become insignificant. Regular. I was never good at running. Talk about a re-incarnation failure.

Lydia | 109 comments I should have said something. My very own parents, killed, and it was my fault. I hate my gift! Who wants to see the future anyway? I wish I never had this special talent. And as I realized later, I should never have said that.

He dug his nails painfully into the stone barrier. It crumbled away beneath his fingernails, little bits at a time.

The city was burning to the ground. The palace was being ransacked. He was falling apart. The wind whispered revolution. Today was not his day. He jumped.

When I first arrived, I started seeing my face on the side of these milk cartons. Slightly confused and feeling violated, I started to wonder why. This is the story of what I found.

~ That crumb on the table was bothering her. Her eye twitched. He fingers figited below the table top. She began to hyperventalte. Then, when no one was looking, she swept it off the table and calmed down. That's when the cookie crumb chose to attack.

Here's the first lines from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Earth: Mostly Harmless that I think are amazing:

~"Anything that happens, happens. Anything that, in happening, causes something else to happen, causes something else to happen. Anything that, in happening, causes itself to happen again, happens again. It doesn't necessarily do it in chronological order, though."

Isn't that awesome?
