ABANDONED. YA two boys stranded in the plains, one is native, they hunt and survive

There are two boys, one of them is native, the other may or may not have been kicked out of a private school. He is staying with a tribe for the summer. The hunt comes up, but the two are not allowed to go with the adults. I think that they sneak out and follow them, but they get lost and stranded. The seasons turns, and it becomes winter. They make a hut. They follow the heards and then hunt, and they manage to get enough meat and hides to feed and protect them, and then they make it through.
