and......the biggest thing of all for me was when Kate ran to Jack first and totally bypassed Sawyer.....???? WHAT was up with that? I still thing she'll be with Jack in the very end.
I figure Kate has had more history with Jack now then Sawyer.. after all they were off the Island for 3 years and during that time Sawyer got closer to Juliet and Kate got closer to Jack.. In regards to the man in Black.. I don't think they are aliens.. the fallen angel angle sounds neat but I'm thinking more they are just trapped spirits maybe.. idk though.. Jacob was able to leave the island.. while he wasn't.. so it seems like he is being punished for something definitely..
I knew it, if you watched last night I totally called it!! MIB is the Devil and Jacob is trying to contain him. Jacob either works for God or is God. Since he told Richard he can't bring his dead wife back and can't absolve him of his sin then I suspect he just works for God.This is kind of like that old Twilight Zone episode as well, where the Devil is in some jail somewhere and he tries to persuade some guy to let him out.
Lindelof and Cuse have said that that show as well as others have inspired them with Lost.
I keep thinking about Cane and Able with regards to the MIB and Jacob. Maybe its some sort of punishment for them. Its this whole thing about him not being able to kill Jacob and having to get Ben to do it.
Yea, pretty much, but remember after MIB had Ben kill Jacob, he then later saw a small blond kid in the jungle and the kid said, you can't kill him, and MIB said, "Don't tell me what I can't do".I suspect since they take over human bodies(since MIB can do this--why can't Jacob??) My point is, I think Jacob can and perhaps will take over someone else's body. But I guess that does not matter since Hurley still talks to Jacob all the time.
I'm betting that either Jack or Hurley will be chosen as the new guardian of the Island. But's it's just a guess.

He is a little bit and he also helped Jack in the airport by saying they didn't lose his dad, they just lost his body or something like that.A lot of people think the sideways timeline and the island timeline will merge somehow at the end.
I can honestly say I have no idea how this will all end but I am sure it will be AWESOME!
At the very beginning of this last season they showed the Island sunken underwater so I suspect that perhaps Jack or somebody will be named a guardian of it and then they will somehow sink it, thereby trapping the Devil forever and also this will no longer allow Jacob to bring other people to the Island(Jack does not like that he was watched his whole life--& does not want this to happen to anyone else.)--They sort of already told us the ending by showing us the sunken Island...but that's just a guess.
Also, once Jack sees and believes that MIB is the Devil, there is no way he would let him off the Island. Jack is too good of a guy. They have swapped everything this time around, Jack is on the team that wants to protect/or perhaps stay on the Island and Locke/MIB wants off. Whereas in all other seasons Jack wanted off the Island and Locke wanted to stay. Someday Jack will figure out why he is on that Island, that's what Jacob wants him & most everyone to do, figure things out for themselves.I was pretty sad last night watching poor Richard's life. So sad. But Richard is also a good guy, that's why MIB left him alone, then decided to use him to attempt to kill Jacob. Richard, Hurley, and Jack are all good guys.
We still don't know if Sun or Jin is the Kwon on that dial of Jacobs. Sun thinks and told Jack last night that she is a candidate. But I don't think it's her. I think it's Jin. Didn't Sun kill some guy and cheat on Jin???
That makes her kind of evil.
I skipped over the last two paragraphs about last nights episode as the UK doesn't get it till Friday. I really am intrested in Richards Story.

By the way last nights ep was titled Ab aeterno, I looked it up, it's Latin for "Since the beginning of time or since a very long time ago."
Speaking of Charlie, it was great to see him again! He was messed up, but I liked him. It's really getting interesting! But also confusing! Especially with the dual timelines.
I know......Jaime.......and I LOVE IT still. I am sad that it is coming to an end soon.
Desmond and Eloise seem to be the keys to the whole show!
oh I loved Daniel and am glad to him again, but I knew that we would in the flash sideways. Some people think that the flash sideways will merge at the end with what's going on on the Island now. I don't know if that will happen but in the season opening they showed the Island underwater so I suspect, the Island is in for it's doomsday.--(it's end)
I'm a total lost fanatic. I'm just blown away by how the writers created these twists and turns. It does get confusing. My hubby has kind of gotten irritated with it, but I still love it.
My husband won't watch it anymore either. I think it's AWESOME though.
It's my favorite show. I'm a writer and I use twists and turns in my own stories, and I can't even figure where they're going with this. I have some ideas, but just not sure. I didn't start watching until season five was on video. A friend loaned me 1-4 and my family watched all four seasons in a week and a half. Yeah, nuts! THEN I downloaded season five and watched it online in one sitting. Can you say obsessive? I was stiff as a board when I got up. It was like twelve hours or something. Wherever they're going with it, it's brilliant writing. LOVE IT!!
My hubby is getting irritated with the predictability of the cliffhanger moments. Doesn't bother me.
You sound just like me. I just love the show. I can't wait for Tuesdays :) As a watcher, they've got me hooked. As a writer...I'm in total awe!

How did I miss this thread!!!! Did you just die when sideways Charlie put his hand on the glass. That show is so awesome. I love Des and was glad to see him back. I think he is #108 on the light house wheel thingy that Jacob told hurley to turn to. I can't wait for Hurley's episode tomorrow. I think it should have some good reveals. How scary is evil Sayid. Loves it.
Yes. I loved the message on Charlie's hand. These are great twists. I'm just so caught up in the show. I can't wait till the end to see what happens, but I'll miss it.
I'm curious about Hurley's role in all of this since he's now delivering messages for Jacob. I'm kind of doubting Jack taking over for everything because I think it's shown that he isn't really the nice guy he seems to be...I think it's going to come down to Desmond. I'm biased though, he's my fav :) crazy Claire is hilarious, especially her beautiful hair ;)
See I think Hurley might be "The One"I wonder if it was suposed to be Locke that took over from Jacob, but Black Clothed guy got to him first.

I'm really looking forward to tonight. I record the episodes on DVR so I can go back at the end of the season and watch them again. Will probably buy it on DVD when it comes out.
Yeah, Hurley is interesting, not only because he's one of my favorite characters, but because he seems to have a "in" thing going on with Jacob.
Yes. It was great. Poor Desmond. That's going to be interesting. And I'm assuming what he did to John in the sideways flash was to make him also remember. Can't wait for next week.
I can't decide if Des was trying to get him to Jack at the hospital so they would remember each other or if he somehow knew he was going to be evil and was trying to kill him. He sure looked good doing it though!
I didn't think about that, him knowing John would eventually house something evil. I just assumed he was trying to get him to remember by bringing him to the brink of death, like what happened with Charlie and with him. But it is strange that he only talked to Hurley but tried to kill John. Interesting.
It really surprised by the dynamite explosion. That caught me off guard. As if most of what happens doesn't :) It's weird, as a writer you learn to look inside the plot of books and movies. Most movies I can predict what is going to happen, because I know what the writer should do to get the most power from the plot, but LOST has me stumped. I see some things, but I just can't figure how they're going to end it. I keep wondering if they aren't going to switch it around so that Jacob is evil and the MIB is good. Remember, MIB said something once about Jacob stealing his body? I think it was in Richard's episode. I don't really think so because John/MIB is the smoke monster and he sure kills a lot of people. Alhtough, he does seem to look inside a person and judge them first. And John/MIB is trying to escape the island and it would seem all hell will break loose if he does. The island seems to be the gateway to hell, and it seems possible that there are several of these places.
And who are these kids that John keeps seeing that frighten him?

I think the creepy "Lord of the Flies" kids (that's what my husband and I call them) are Jacob and the MIB when they were younger.

Oh, yes, evil Sayid! I'd forgotten that the Asian guy had said he had something evil in him. It IS confusing! But I just ride it like a twisting river, knowing it'll all be explained at the end. There are just too many threads and people to keep track of, especially when each one has a sideways thread, too. Whew!Interesting how it's all tying into love and soulmates, though. 1st he thinks the nature of man is that he's basically evil as he mentioned from last season when they flashed back to him and Jacob on the beach watching "the black rock on the sea".
2nd He's wanted Jacob out of the way for a very long time...
and 3rd he wants off the Island---i.e. he wants to go "home"--
AND 4th He can turn into the Smoke Monster so he is not human.
So to recap #1 The nature of man is basically bad/evil
#2 There are rules to killing others of his kind
#3 Wants to go home, how many times have I heard that before with
either the devil himself or another angel that has fallen
#4 He is able to take other human form and also smoke form-(not human
