I really want to read Queen of the Damned because I LOVED the movie, but it seriously took me so long to get through the ending of Interview. I think part of that had to do with some of the other books I was reading. So, I probably will read some more of the series but it's gunna be a little while before I can get to them!!!

40. To Hold the CrownI think the word "hate" may be a bit strong for this book because I didn't hate it. But I did immensely dislike it. However, I did learn some interesting things about Henry VII. Her portrayal of Henry VIII *cringe*. I'll write up a full review on my blog tomorrow.
41. Fantastic Mr. FoxI know, it's a kid's book, but it's one of my favorites from when I was little. I'm gunna start reading another Dahl book, the BFG before I tackle The Life and Death of Anne Boleyn.
I love Dahl!! Witches was my favorite I think, or The Twits, or maybe Matilda... oh, but then there's Charlie's Chocolate Factory. Sigh. Now I want to read them all again :)
My favorites were The Twits and BFG. Both of my sons read the BFG about a million times each!
42. The BFGAgain, another kids' book, but I had fun rereading it!! Now onto the harder books!! It was nice having a short breather.
It's always nice to throw in a fluff book between the harder to read books, lol
I sooooo agree with that you guys. A little fluff never hurt anyone.
I'm starting The Other Queen. I know it hasn't technically one the poll over at THL, but it will. I've read a whole seven pages woo!! LOLFluff is soooo nice!!!! Wolf Hall just deadened by brain. I've read a lot of books that have had that effect on me this year. Sunne in Splendour was an AMAZING book, but I took a break from reading for about a week after I finished it. And don't get me started on Memoirs of Cleopatra LOL

haha! It's not too bad, but you have to totally concentrate on it to know what's going on. I'm actually surprised it won an award, not because it's a bad book (I found it awesome) but because you have to have a pretty good knowledge of the Tudors to fully grasp what's going on.
So it's a book specifically for people suffering from Tudorhistorymania?

I think it is! I've read so many bad reviews on the book because people didn't know what was going on. I couldn't even imagine reading this book without a Tudor knowledge!!So, I picked up a book called The Crimson Petal and the White. It's another big one, but it is really awesome so far. The writing is unlike anything I've read. It's so dang addictive!
I have that book and here it is phenomenal. It is another one that is on the 1001 books you should read before you die. I will get to it someday, lol. Glad you are enjoying it, Aly.

Yeah.... school reading rocks. Not really. I literally had to read all of these this last weekend. Go me!! I'm glad I'm a fast reader LOL. And I'm halfway done with another book for school. UG. Why did I go back?? Haha!
I really wanna finish The Crimson Petal and the White but it's so HUGE and I haven't had time. According to my kindle, I have about thirty five percent left. It's sooo good!!
47. The Crimson Petal and the White (it should count as two books LOL)48. The Apple Another book by Michael Faber, it's basically the conclusion of TCPATW. I don't recommend reading that book without this one because I spent 800 pages with characters and getting to be involved in their lives only to have it end without a conclusion which to put it mildly really really irritated me. That being said, The Crimson Petal was one of the best books that I have read. But it needed something to the end. I felt extraordinarily cheated. And, I had to buy The Apple to find out what happened to all the characters I grew to love. So all in all, I have spent 1000 pages with these people and I still feel cheated LOL
So nice to hear you liked TCPatW, Aly! I've had that one sitting on my shelf for too long, but the size is a bit intimidating right now. I can only do so many big books in one year!
I know what you mean, Paula. I have that one on my shelf,too, but have not read it for the same reason.

Paula, that book was a bear!!! But I'm glad I read it. I like I said, the ending was lame, so once you read it, make sure you have The Apple as a quick follow up.

51. The Other QueenI still don't really know what to think about this book. Why spend so many chapters, the large majority of the book, on two to three years and then speed it ahead 16 years in the last chapter and a half? Maybe if Phillipa Gregory had spent less time repeating herself OVER and OVER and OVER again, we could have actually gotten the entire story of Mary Queen of Scots instead of this weird, botched, one-sided travesty.
52. Sisters: The Lives of America's Suffragists53. Inside Hitler's Bunker, The Last Days of the Third Reich
I read the Hitler book tonight. Fabulous. I couldn't put it down. I'm writing my senior thesis on the collapse of the Third Reich so this was a great "get my feet wet" book. The other one was... well, Baker is a dry author. And I'm not really into American History. But I had to read it for a class.
Aly - I have heard that the Hitler book is excellent.
It really is. It is such a quick read!! 170 pages but it flew by like it was nothing!

Ah, I wish I'd never read TOBG just so I could read it for the first time all over again :) Lyn, have you read The Boleyn Inheritance?
Not yet, TOBG was my first PG, believe it or not, but I am anxious to read more, although apparently not TOQ, lol.

If I remember correctly, I liked it even more than TOBG.
I own them all, but have not read any of them. Books I own become orphans pretty quick as I always have too many library books going. I actually had slated TBI as the next one to read. BTW - I am starting The Gargoyle today.
I think you'll love it! It's so weird but enthralling!

IKR??? I was about to reach through the bok and strangle selfish Bess and when I turned the last page I was furious! All that and then all the sudden she was like "I'm done writing this book now, bye". WTF right?
What did you think of MHL Aly? I think Chelsea Handler's books are hysterical! I have been going through some BS in my life right now so I may have to go get Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang to cheer myself up as her books have made me consistantly LOL.
