Stephanie is hot on the treal of Kenny Mancuso. Only one thing stands in her way Joe Morelli *sigh* who just happens to be Kenny's cousin. Soon Kenny is stalking Stephanie leaving leaving notes, fingers and a foot for her to find. Every time Stephanie gets close the trail goes cold or Morelli gets in her way. Stephanie cant figure out what Morelli is working on but their is missing gums from the local military depot, 24 caskets missing and something is not right at the local funeral home. With the help of Grandma Mauzer (yes Grandma Mauzer) Stephanie is either going to get her man or get killed.

Favorite describtion of Morelli: As a teenager Morelli had been feral. Two years in the navy and twelve more on the police force had taught him control, but I was convienced nothing short of removing his gonands would ever completely domesticate him. There was always a barbarous part of Morelli that hummed beneth the survace. I found myself helplessly sucked in by it, and at the same time it scared the hell out of me.

Favorite scence: Stephanie and Morelli are on a stake out at the funeral home when things started to get hot and heavy when Stephanie's mind starts to think about getting caught and then Morelli mentions they have the funeral home wired and then Stephanie realizes Morelli knew what they were having for dinner at her parents and she dumps her purse out finds the bug and throws it out the window. Morelli gets out to get and she locks him out of her car and leaves him standing there in his socks. She drives a block and turns back to give him his gun. I laugh ever time I read this and wonder why she was worried about so many things I would have jsut gone along with what ever Morelli had in mind.

Favorite quote: "I know what you're thinking," Grandma said into the silence. "Do I have any more buletts in this here gun? Well, with all the confusion, what with being locked up in a refrigerator, I plumb forgot what was in here to start with. But being that this is a forty-five magnum, the most powerful handgun in extence, and it could blow your head clean off, you just got to ask yourself one question. Do you feel lucky today? Well, do you punk?"

It was just so funny when she felt bad and drove back to give him his gun.

Kenny Mancuso - FTA charged with shooting gas station attendant Moogey Bues in the knee. One of Morelli's crazier relatives.

Vincent Plum - Owner of Vincent Plum Bail Bonding Company. Stephanie's cousin and employer. Notorious sexual deviant.

Rex - Stephanie's pet hamster. Small, silent type.

Helen Plum - Stephanie's mother. Model Burg housewife. Queen of the pot-roast.

Grandma Mazur - Stephanie's Grandmother. Funeral parlor aficionado and author of some disturbing funeral viewing disasters. Notable quote: "I was watching television and I saw how you stick your fingers in a person's eyes to slow them down."

Eddie Gazarra - Stephanie's cop friend. Married to Stephanie's cousin Shirley. Has three kids and not enough babysitting.

Moogey Bues - Gas station attendant was first shot in the knee by Kenny Mancuso and then shot through the head a few days later.

Frank Plum - Stephanie's father. Retired post office employee. Now he works hard at eating and ignoring Grandma Mazur.

Constantine Stiva - Consummate undertaker and owner of Stiva's Mortuary. Currently in the hospital with a herniated disc.

Spiro Stiva - Constantine Stiva's stepson and understudy. He is handling the business with Constantine in the hospital. Hires Stephanie for a shady investigation job.

Mary Lou Molnar - Now Mary Lou Stankovic. Stephanie's best friend since she was born.

Connie Rosolli - Secretary at Vincent Plum Bail Bonding Company. She keeps a stiletto in her middle desk drawer.

Perry Sandeman - AKA "Sandman". Shady character who works as a mechanic at Delio's gas station.

Uncle Sandor - Grandma Mazur's brother who went into a nursing home last month. He left his 1953 powder blue Buick to Grandma Mazur.

"Crazy" Carl Costanza - Trenton police officer who has the "pleasure" of taking in some of Stephanie's FTA's.

Lula - Ex-prostitute who comes to work as a filing clerk for Vinnie. Aspiring "assistant bounty hunter".

Joyce Barnhardt - Stephanie's arch enemy, who was caught "doing the deed" with Stephanie's now-ex-husband.

Dickie Orr - Stephanie's ex-husband. Horse's patoot.

I love the whole mall scene. Where Stephanie is in high heels and is chasing Kenny. She happens to slam into Joyce. That is so fun!

One thing driving me nuts about this book is Stephanie's cell phone use. One minute she has it, the next minute she has to use someone's phone. I don't know why she doesn't always have it? And her receiving the penis in the mail.. classic!

that was upsetting to pick on old women. of course she did get to tell everyone down at the salon
