Pedram Keyani The book discusses how the design decisions for urban spaces impacts the ways that people can interact with their local shops, friends, neighbors, etc. It does a nice job of comparing cities that grow organically vs. planned cities and the implications of each. The role of the automobile in effective city design and sprawl was an underlying concept across the book and I think the author could have done a better job of making that a more high level concept that he compares from city to city at the end of the book. All in all, I learned a great deal from this book and it taught me a lot about urban design.
