I am on bookmooch but I haven't used it yet. If I do swap books, I'm definitely willing to mail internationally. After goodreads adds international swap and gets the kinks out, I'll probably use them. (when I add sone books, I'll post my name on bookmooch here. I haven't gotten that far yet, even though I've been a member for a while. Good idea, Lee!
I currently use paperbackswap, but I would like to see what this goodreads swap is about. I haven't seen any details for it yet. I did do bookmooch for a while, but I was just too slow and never got there in time to be an effective moocher. I'm very active on PBS, but it stinks that they don't have international swapping.
I am on Bookmooch. I live in the U.S. but might be willing to send to Canada. My name on Bookmooch is Dara from IA. I love Bookmooch.
You've convinced me to give this a go, Lee! I'm just going to send you a friend request, then try listing a book. Eeek!!
I use both Bookmooch and PBS. Some times only one of the two has the book I'm looking for so I hedge my bets.

If you want to add me as a buddy on PBS I am "Plumfan".
(yes, I signed up for PBS during a Stephanie Plum marathon, haha)

I'll go find you. I'm Misfit on both places.

Don't be scared Darkpool! It's really fun. You will have to send a book or two to someone before you have enough points to mooch though. Unless you list a bunch of books.

Eeeek! ;-)"Chandra, I rarely give up my books either, but given how many books I want that I can't find, I might try to get myself into swap mode someday. Also, I just went to a 42 year old paperback (that I've read probably 100 times but not for at least a decade) and realized it wasn't readable at this point; it's in bad shape. So, unfortunately, some books, especially cheap books, don't last forever anyway.
I sometimes pick up very cheap paperbacks that are in good condition at library sales or yard sales. I sometimes add those to my mooch inventory. I don't seem to get particularly attached to fiction especially if I know I'm not going to read it more than once.

Why thank you! *smiling*
I do like the idea of sharing books with people all over the world. And I love getting any kind of mail!

One reader's meat is another reader's poison, or whatever that proverb is... I'm hdk on Bookmooch and have a strange collection of stuff, but y'all can take a look!

I suffer from the same sickness Hayes. On the other hand, we start to read a larger variety of genres at BM.
What a great site! It looks better than any other swap site I've seen. The picture on the home page is so cute.I just signed up as VeganLinds. I don't know how soon I'll have any books up there, but I'm definitely interested in using it. I'll be sure to post here again when I get some books up.
Lee, I love your idea of picking up books at sales and posting them on there.
Lindsey, I'd like to add you as a friend there. Someday I might use it. I think I'm Laura's friend & Lee's friend. Maybe you can figure out who I am. ;-)
Found you! I'm with you on the "someday I might use it" :D
I'm sad I just sold a lot of my books to a couple used bookstores before finding Bookmooch or thinking about using GR Swap. Oh well, I'm sure there will be plenty of books in the future!
Thanks, Lindsey. I just got the email and accepted you. I had to look up my name & password anyway. I keep a pw protected doc on my computer with all my many passwords, etc.

I sometimes find classics for sale at the library for 25 cents so it's nice to be able to pass those along to other moochers.

I've really enjoyed using bookmooch since Lee persuaded me to give it a go. I love the feeling of sending my no-longer-wanted books off overseas, where someone else may have the excitement of finally completing a series, for instance. I've managed to mooch a few books that have been recommended in the group that I've not been able to get at my local library, although I've yet to actually read any of them!
