...but what's the difference between the book of the month and the miny group read? I tried looking for the answer but am on a library computer that is slower than a caffiene-deprived snail.

They are both group reads. No difference really (as far as I know). Tricia heads up the Book of the Month and Kenjii takes care of the Mini Group Read.

I'm feeling like a caffine=deprived snail myself right now so I can relate to that poor computer :)

Initially we just had one book read, which was called Book of the Month.

When we added a second, we wanted to call it something else so Kenjii came up with Mini Group Read.

Essentially they are the same, but are named different with different mods handling them.
