In the HP & the Order of the Phoenix, I felt so sorry for Harry.First he loses his parents, people at school think he's mad, and then Bellatrix kills Sirius, and finally, Dumbledore tells him that neither can live while the other survives. I loved that final paragraph in that chapter, when Dumbledore explains to Harry why he hadn't made him a prefect. He says something like:"I thought you had a lot of responsibility to get on with," and Harry sees a tear running down his cheek.

aw, yes that part always makes me sad.
One of my most favorite scenes was when Dobby died and Harry dug his grave in Deathly Hallows. Also at the end of Goblet of Fire, when Harry is in the hospital wing and Molly Weasley hugs him the way a mother would, and he realizes that he has no memory of being hugged that way and he starts to cry. I always choke up at that part. :*(

HP1: One of my favorite parts is in the first chapter when Vernon sees all of the wizards in their robes on the street and has a mini stroke.HP2: The Death-Day Party!
HP3: The various times when Ron suspects Hermione's classes are overlapping in a "magical" kind of way
HP4: Scene in the kitchens with Winky and Dobby!
HP5: Hermione's panic attack over her Transfiguation OWLS and Snape's memories
HP6: Harry breaking up with Ginny (so sad, but so good!)
HP7: EVERYTHING!
AAAHAHAHAAAAAA...I'm crying right now, literally. I just finished watching Deathly Hallows Part 2 for the first time since I saw it in theaters...sob...:*(
I like the part in Harry Potter 7 Part 1 when Harry and Ginny are kissing, then George comes in with a toothbrush in the hole in his ear. Harry and Ginny look at him and he says, "Morning," then winks. Ha Ha LOL LOL LOL! My favorite part!
haha, lol...that part is pretty awesome. And they did Snape's memories really well in part 2, I thought.
The part that really got to me was, of course, in Snape's memories. As if that entire part wasn't heartbreaking enough, when it told about the memory in which he found Lily's letter to Sirius and kept the part that contained her signature and 'love', as well as the picture of her... I pretty much fell apart. Blurry vision, put the book down, talk myself into picking it back up...fell apart. As if going through Snape's death wasn't enough... why don't you kick us while we're down?!?
In Harry Potter and The Order of The Pheonix, the scene wherein Snape was teaching Harry occlumency, and Harry somehow pierced into Snape's memories. That scene really knocked me down. Snape is so often depicted as smug and collected, that we forget to acknowledge the fact that he is very insecure/embarrassed about his past.

AGREED! I loved that scene. I was completely speechless after reading it. I mean all the while I hated Snape (since he was the one that killed Dumbledore) but then after that all I came up with was "Oh". Then started to sob.

Book 7:- the part where Ron and Hermione kiss. It was so spontaneous and randam yet strangly beautiful
- I like the part where mrs Weasley screams; "Not my daughter you b***h" at Belatrics Lestrange. I was so proud of her!
- I also tool over with laughter at the first kissing scene in the book. Ginnie and Harry are kissing and Georgie walks in with a toothbrush in his ear, take a long sip of coffee and then says "Morning"!
Book 6:
- the part where ginnie and Harry kiss, I felt like I had been waiting years for
that scene
Book 2:
- when proffesor Lockhart gets hit my his own Memory charm, cracks me up every time
Seriously! NO ONE mentioned Luna's commentary on the Quidditch match????? LOSER'S LURGEY!!! I crack up everytime I read that; hilarious!! I love luna SOOOOO much (we could totally be sisters)! She's awesome!

SAME!!!!! Ugh, Sirius did NOT have to die!!!! The series wouldn't have been completely turned upside down if he didn't. Like James and Lily HAD to die, not that I dislike them or anything, but the series would not be possible! Anyways...Sirius and Hedwig should have lived...
Most beautiful/sad/speechless part: Snape. (his death and memories) so horrible :*( The best books were definitely the 3rd and the 7th. The third was so funny and just pure joy! :) And the seventh was just brilliant and left me speechless. Really, after finishing the series I couldn't read books for a few months. Nothing seemed good at all compared to Rowling's writings.
Book 1: When Hermione says" You'll get us killed, worse, expelled." And then ron goes" I think shes got her priorities mixed up'Book 1: Harry " We checked the entie library already"
Hermione" Not in the restricted section. Goodbye. Merry Christmas
Ron"We've been a bad influence on her'
lolollol
I always crack up over the scene in Goblet of Fire, where the boys are talking about the Yule Ball, and they aren't studying properly, so Snape keeps smacking them on the back of the head with books. :DPlus, that same scene, the way Fred asks Angelina to the ball is just LOL!
Becca wrote: "I always crack up over the scene in Goblet of Fire, where the boys are talking about the Yule Ball, and they aren't studying properly, so Snape keeps smacking them on the back of the head with book..."i love that too.
i also love it when ron has to dance with the teacher and harry says "ur never gonna let him forget this, r u?

But still, almost nothing beats the Ferret scene in that movie, I think.

"Professor Moody, what are you doing?"
"Teaching."
"What? Is that a student?"
"Technically it's a ferret."
..........
"Alastor! We never use Transfiguration as a punishment! Surely Dumbledore told you that?"
"He might have mentioned it."
"Well you would do well to remember it."
"*pokes tongue out*"
:D :D :D

It's a magical moment of pure physical comedy that equals anything Chaplin or Thr Three Stooges ever did.
Perfectly expressed Kathy! I agree. :) I think the best thing about that scene is how Alan Rickman (Snape) doesn't have to say a word, and I'm still giggling helplessly at anything he does. I can't imagine how much fun that scene would have been to make.

My favorite moment in the series is the climax when Harry succeeds in creating the true philosophers stone; when he realizes that since he is the final horcrux he has to die to destroy Voldemort. After I'd made a ten year emotional investment to follow the spiritual growth of this young man it brought tears to my eyes to see him succeed in the death of the ego. That's what made HP so delightful to young and old alike.
Yes, I loved all the acting in the series, and Maggie Smith was awesome... especially in the last film! :D But Alan Rickman (who has always been a favourite actor of mine) was so unbelievably good in the last film - he makes me cry so much my eyes are still sore the next morning. I don't know about anyone else, but I was peeved he didn't get an Oscar for that performance.
