Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I didn't enjoy them at all. They are part of the reason I didn't get into reading until a few years ago.

Robyn Hawk (aflyonthewall) | 3 comments Do you think that the resistance is more to do with the "required" part of the reading?

I know that in my case I have re-read almost all of the books that were considered "required" reading in Jr and High School...and I have enjoyed most of them.

...and it is worthwhile to mention that the books I read before I knew they were part of a class - I thoroughly enjoyed.

Sometimes - especially with teens - it is the word "required" that does you in. I had an English Lit teacher that handed out a list of books for each assignment and we chose the one to read...it is amazing how much more I got out of a book that was my choice.

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I suppose the word "required reading" did put me out on the book before I even started reading it. I shall have to read some of them over again and see how I like them as a result of not being a child/teen anymore.
