questions: does a book need to be over 400 pages (like 401 and up) to cross off an additional shelf? also, according to GR, the book i just finished is exactly 400, but the final 2 pages are the acknowledgments from the author. do i count this as a 400 page book? if it does, then my shelf count would be 97.

The book can be 400 pages and up, so since your book is 400 pages exactly you can cross off an additional shelf. However, acknowledgements from the author would not count (so if these are a part of your pages, you would not get an additional shelf), just as any P.S. (like an interview or discussion questions would not count as pages). Just the actual content of the book.

angela, thanks for the info about the page counts. my pages 399 and 400 were the acknowledgments, so i get the 96 not 97 for that one. thanks!
