Hi all

This group has been set up in response to the plans made at diunconf during the book discussion session.
I wasn't in that session myself - hence I haven't added any of the books that were discussed!
Please do start the ball rolling and add titles of interest, whether or not they were talked about on the day :)
And, of course, this group isn't limited to attendees of diunconf! If you have an interest in Digital Inclusion, from any angle, please join in and/or pass on the group details to those you feel will enjoy and benefit from it.

Cheers
Lyndsey

Right, Kate here, I held the session on "Books" for Digital Inclusion. To be honest the title was a bit of a red herring... as some of the literature was research papers and blogs ... and not books that can be bought or that have an ISBN number. Not a problem in the session but a slight issue when presenting them in this website. I will try my best to create a solution within the application... anyone got a chisel?

The purpose of the session I proposed was to create a list of texts both on matters of digital inclusion and around it so that I could figure out what was worth reading and what not. I also wanted peer reviews of text I had read - such as the Digital Britain Report (groan!).

I think we had an enjoyable session and many of the books we discussed were not on dry and subjects but more about community, society, design and text (and other content of digital media).

I hope this list is of use to others and is organinicly developed over time with your (oh yes YOU), your suggestions.

If you do not want to register on the site you can email me your suggestions @sarahkatenorman

Now find a comfy chair, in a quiet corner, with good lighting - and settle down for a bit of a read. On your Kindle or whatever us Digital people of the 21 Century read from now.

Cheers
Kate

Ah. Maybe I jumped the gun a bit then, setting this up. That's Monday morning enthusiasm for ya!

If there is a better online place or another way of doing it I'll happily shuffle off to there instead - most important is we all end up with whatever's most suitable - I'm not particularly attached to this one :-)

Also, if we do stay here, if anyone wants to be another moderator let me know. Doesn't seem to be too arduous a task & I've never been a moderator of anything much before

Cheers
