Colleen, How were the Dexter books? I hear they are pretty good, but I tried to watch the show once and it was too much for me.
I loooooove the show and the books are excellent! I want to read the next two but I am debating on getting the e-book versions or buying the books. One of the books has some pretty gruesome murder scenes so if the show was too much you might want to just read the first in the series then gauge your stomach from there...
For some reason, I can read about gore better than watching it, so I think I will give the first one a try and see how it goes.
Donna, if you are interested in watching the show netflix has the first four seasons.Lyn, I can see that. Makes sense between what hollywood gives your eyes and what you can imagine yourself. Give the first book a try then and let me know what you think when you do! :)
Move it up Donna, it's an AMAZING show! Michael C. Hall plays Dexter and he is absolutely fantastic!
Hey you are just a couple books behind me so still pluggin away at it well despite the hard work!! :D
I am so making my goal and maybe beyod this year!58. The Color Purple by Alice Walker
It was an audio book read by the author, I love that. Great book, now I want to see the movie again.
59. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's NestOne more book to go before I make my reading goal for the year! #59 completes my name challenge too!!!
I am halfway done with book number 70 and 71 both. Maybe I can still make mine. I have a GN slated for 72 and should finish The Stand which would be 73. I just need to find 2 more quick and fast reads!
Drumroll please...60. Russian Winter by Daphne Kalotay
I completed both of my reading goals for the year!!!
I'd be up for that... I actually tried it this year but didn't complete it. I had a lot of letters that had 2 or more books and even counting my GN's I am missing I, Q, V, X, Y & Z :PAre you going for 60 again?

HATED this book!!!"
And yeah... wasn't a big fan either!
Colleen wrote: "I am not sure yet if I am going to go for a specific number, with the big upcoming move I may not."That's understandlable... it was hard enough for us this year!
I have that one, so I will probably read it eventually, but no one seems to like it much, at least no one that whose opinion I care about.
Jen, IKR?Lyn, I would read it between two chunkster books or between two non-fic's. It is a good fluff read but not exactly her best work. The only problem I had with the book is that it is a collection of short stories which is fine but it seems like as soon as I was invested in the characters the story would end and I would have to start all over again with a new story and different people.
I HATED the Constant Princess. As much as I disliked The Other Queen, it was still a better book than CP. I think im gunna try for 75 books next year. I need to catch up on GR posts lol.
I could tolerate TOQ but I really didn't like how the ending seemed so rushed and abrupt. I really really hated how she chose to do TCP though. I am not going to go for a number next year, just challenges.
Colleen wrote: "63. I Am Legend by Richard Matheson"Did you like that one? I read it and enjoyed it but my fav Richard Matheson books are What Dreams May Come and Bid Time Return (Somewhere in Time)
I did like it Wen! I listened to it while I drove back and forth to my bf's house out on the west side of the island. This was my first book by him, I want to get a hold of and read Hell House next; have you read it?
