Diane U (djuseless) Hello fellow readers, my name is Diane and I live in Wales, MA USA. I received an Amazon Kindle for Christmas from my DH and I LOVE IT! I am overwhelmed with all the amazing authors out there and I thought that joining a book club could help me decide what to read next.

I have downloaded almost every free book (non-classics) that have been in the kindle store as well as several books from indie authors (some are GR authors too) that are under $2.

I am currently reading Nineteen Minutes. This is my first Jodi Picoult book. I really am enjoying her style and the topics she writes about.

I cannot wait to get involved in some group discussions.

Stephanie (sbez05) | 556 comments Welcome Diane! Don't worry - you will receive some many recommendations here you'll have no trouble finding something amazing to read next. Get ready for your TBR to get out of control.

If you're liking Jodi Picoult, I would suggest checking out My Sister's Keeper by her as well. I have mixed feelings on some of her books, but I really loved that one.

Diane U (djuseless) Have you read The Pact: A Love Story by her as well? I already downloaded that one. My Sister's Keeper is on my kindle wish list so I may just buy it next anyways.

Stephanie (sbez05) | 556 comments Yes, I also liked The Pact. Plain Truth was good as well. Those are the books I've read by her that I have been most impressed with. Others I haven't cared as much for, but there are several more (including her new one) that I haven't read.

Diane U (djuseless) Thanks for the advice! I think I'll read The Pact next since I have already purchased it! Have you read any of the books that I have on my to-read, downloaded to kindle shelf of books? I would love some input on those too!

No problem! I haven't read very many on either of those shelves, but I did read and enjoy The Lovely Bones. Well, "enjoy" might be the wrong word, given the troubling subject matter and it being a rough read, but I do recommend it. I also recently read The Hunger Games and wholeheartedly recommend it. I loved it and can't wait to read the second one.

Bhumi | 524 comments I read The Hunger Games too, and loved it.

Thanks for the suggestion! I think I just have to read almost all of her books now! I'm so glad that I found a new author that I really enjoy! Now if there are only more quiet hours in a day! Ahhh!

message 12: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (goodquietkitty) Welcome Diane!

Nineteen Minutes is the best Picoult book that I've read. I didn't think I'd like it, but it was completely engrossing. I hope you're enjoying it!

Suzanne (bellamy22) | 610 comments Welcome Diane!!! I've only read one Picoult, 'Second Glance', and I loved it.
I've tried to find her others as gripping...but never get past the first chapters:(

F1Wild Hey, Diane! Welcome (although I'm a newer newbie than you) from a former Mass girl. I grew up on The Cape and in Hanover (South Shore).

I took my Irish (N. Ireland born and raised) hubby to Mass for the 1st time in '08 and we had a blast. We hope to go back again this Fall - for some lobbies and clams with bellies...oh, and to see family and friends! ;-))
