Need Help! Searching for an old book

Hi, I'm new here but this looked like the perfect place to post my question. Now that I have kids I have been passing on all of the old books that I loved as a kid. Thankfully my parents still have most of them. Unfortunately, there is one book I can't find and no one seems to remember it but me. Here is the extent of what I remember, hopefully someone here can help.

Main character was a little dog, and he had a large monster friend. The monster was large and white. I believe there was a small assortment of supporting mosnters with them. The names Ferdie and Ferdinand ring a bell but have led me nowhere in my search.

Please help, this is driving me crazy.

Edit: This was likely published in the 60's or 70's.

They found a book for me that I had over a half century ago. It took over a year but between myself and the members there, I finally found it. So, it's another good place to ask. Often, books are found almost immediately.

Thanks for pointing me towards the other thread. They haven't answered yet but then again they are dealing with alot of requests.

Ian, Sometimes books are found in minutes, sometimes it takes over a year. They're usually, but not always, found. I have two pending requests, one of them very old, one fairly new, both very old books, but not classics/necessarily ever that popular.

Keep checking back in any/all groups you posted, and you can always bump up requests after much time has elapsed.

Good luck! I know how frustrating it can be to not remember the title/author of a book.
