Hi everyone. I know the topic prompt for this weeks short stories & poems is ECLIPSE. I just saw a headline for eclipses that will be happening starting on the 15th. Check out this website on Earth Sky News - the fourth report down. http://mail.aol.com/38507-111/aol-6/e... Have a good day. :)~

Staying at our in-laws this week and they have a second hand shop at the end of the road as I walked past they had a sign in the window 'All books 50p' - Heaven!
I'm stocked up for ages!

My girls were given two envelopes yesterday to send to the fairies which said that if they left them under their pillows the fairies would take them away and grant their wishes. By the time I got home from work they had already written them out and put them under their pillows.
They wished for a trip to Fairy Land to visit the Fairy Queen! I've stalled a bit today saying that the Queen must have lots of letters to reply to - but I'm struggling with a plot line that will hold water!
They've spent today packing their cases for their trip!!
If anyone has a good idea how to keep the magic in this scenario I'd appreciate the help!
Fingers crossed!!!!!

- Set up a small corner of your garden with tinsel, candles, music on iPod, two bags of lollies, fairy stuff.
- Make masks for the three of you.
- Get your girls out of bed, put on masks, take them out into garden.
- Leave a note from the fairy queen saying she had to leave to help some children but thank you for visiting fairyland, lollies are for you to take home.
- Bit of work but could be lots of fun.
:)

ooh, that's not a bad idea!!
Any other ideas we'd had involved saying they hadn't been.
We'd thought of making some excuse as to why hey couldn't come at the moment and give them a special task to help the fairies or maybe saying the could come but they won't remember etc...
but all of these things were a bit ...I don't know.... too rational, maybe?!
thanks Ryan,
still open to any other suggestions - I have until this evening to decided and then I'll have to put something in writing, or the natives will get restless!

But hey, it's only a story after all. I think the best thing to do is always write, write, write! Whatever, whenever and however you choose. Stepping out of your comfort zone is always a great opportunity. Even if the story doesn't make it to your completed pile, it will always be good practice and a good learning experience. And, who knows - you may just write the next best seller. Good luck :)

Same happened here. I almost was part of a jury group but wasn't picked amongst it for the case. I joked to myself the only "duty" I did that day was when I used the bathroom near the courtroom! Sorry. Immature joke I know. :)

I’m always complaining about how Port Orchard is a boring place to live, so going to California for a week was a huge improvement in my routine. The sun was always out, the puppies were out walking their masters (or is it the other way around?), the feminine eye-candy was out in full force, the food was delicious, and best of all, it was a laidback vacation. Most of the vacations I’ve been on with my mom and step-dad Dale have been ones where we would rush from place to place to do things. This one was not like those vacations. Yes, we did some cool things, but it was on a relaxed schedule. I like vacations where I just get to kick back and be myself.
By the way, I’ve got some pictures on the family camera that I’d like to share with everybody on Face Book and Deviant Art. It may not be right away, but I’ve got some good ones, believe me. I even have a picture of myself in a fedora. Imagine that: me in a fedora. Who would’ve thunk it? And then we have pictures of animal cuties, let’s not forget those.
No matter how boring a city Port Orchard may be, it’s always nice to come home to my own devices. California was great, don’t get me wrong. In fact, I’d even dare say that I’d want to live there. But Port Orchard is my home and having my orange kitty Smokey sleeping on my bed is the sweetest feeling in the world. It’s good to be back, everybody. I hope you’re glad to have me back. We’ve got ears, say cheers!

I've just had an argument with my youngest as to why she can't wear ballet shoes in the garden when it's raining. Obviously the sensible Mummy argued that the shoes would get muddy and wet and be damaged meaning she's need new ballet shoes which we couldn't afford.
However a little voice in side said "Yes I can see why it would be nice to dance in the garden in the rain - why not"
!!!
Good sense won out and she's dancing in her wellies but roll on lottery win!
So cute. That would make a fine painting: A little girl in a garden dancing in her ballet slippers. At least take some pictures! What kind of flowers are in your garden, Nicky? I have heard you mention your garden before.
My cousin and I used to dress in slips (camesols & slip skirts) and retreat when it rained to a copse of bushes. Underneathe the rain would not touch us. Maybe if you gave her a substitute to wearing ballet shoes she would still be happy. :) What kind of garden do you have? And where are you compared to Norwich UK? Just curious.
