40 books? Wow, I hope I can read them all but I'm going to read Valis and Transmigration of Timothy Archer next. He had written short stories too, right?

I loved it as well. Then again, I liked most books we read in school, unlike a lot of the people in my classes.
We haven't read it in class yet. I just broke down and read it about six months ago. I like most of the books we read in school too, but the constant complaining from classmates makes it a little less interesting.
I know! Every day this year when we were supposed to discuss the assigned reading in English, there were never more than eight or nine people at most who agreed with me when I said I liked a certain chapter or scene.
I know! Oh my goodness, that got under my skin so much! And I hated it when they didn't actually read it, so there were only a few people participating in the discussion.
Oh, yeah, that's almost worse!! When you tell someone you like a certain character or chapter and they just give you a blank stare and say, "Uh... what?"
I just hate cirriculum reading. I prefer picking up a book and reading, or browsing the relevant section to find something, or getting a referral from a friend. Reading a series of books (especially fiction) to fullfil a given set, like completing tasks in a video game, makes enjoyable books very tedious.
I used to have a comics version of Moby Dick. If they hadn’t changed up the ending, I’d have done better on the exam.
Ugh. I am having nasty weather problems in my area. There are severe thunderstorms and supposedly tornadoes may be coming our way (hopefully not!!!).This blows (in more ways possible). :P
I wanted to get some stuff done today and apparently none of it may work out today either.
Are you, by chance, somewhere in Virginia or North Carolina near Hampton Roads?. We are supposed to get the same kind of weather tonight around 7 pm. Lol
I was just standing outside, waiting for the bus, when a wall of wind surged forth from the trees and nearly blew me into the street. The gust remained steady for five minutes, at least until the bus arrived. It was awesome.
I heard nasty thunderstorms a while back followed by a second storm mass that wasn't as severe. A lot of rain though.
In Southwestern Pennsylvania, there’s a Frank Lloyd Wright house I’m going to go see one of these days. It’s built on a waterfall on a rocky creek.

Haha. I like your post Kyra! :D
Hi everyone....just thought I would pop in and say hi....wow...all those new people to meet....sorry I haven't contributed much this year....playing too much words with friends and scramble I think. Besides which I went to Japan and learned to ski for the first time in my life, my husband went to Nepal and trekked to Everest base camp and now we are planning a trip to Europe for August and part of September.
Welcome back, Jan! Wow, you would appear to be trying to epitomize busy-ness!
Jump back in to the WSS if you can find the time. Above all, continue to have fun!
To whom it may concern:
Happy father's day! :)

Yes. Did you read any of the stories?
Thank you, Leslie, for the well wishes. Although no one has come forward who has been willing to admit being my child.
Not sure. What is a fire dance? The dance of joy when one gets by managing to get fired from the job one hates?

lol!
lol!
I go dancing four times a week....but I've never been fire dancing.....but it might be useful for any princesses who needed to escape from dragons! I do line dancing twice a week, circle dancing once a fortnight and tap dancing on Fridays.......maybe if I turned on the tap dancing it might put out the fire??
Is it fushigi that I was just thinking about fushigi? I would say that's too meta, but this is Jung we are talking about.
Ajay’s a finalist in the Goodreads Newsletter contest. “The Case of My Pregnant Socks” got picked for judging. Congratulations, Ajay!http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...
That group, !Poetry!. Is it a fun group? How many of you folk are in it? How many have gotten their poem published?
Christa RP, there are elements of the Poetry group that are fun. I was once quite active there, but find I enjoy the WSS far more. P.S. I did vote for Ajay. M won one of the contests, once, if memory serves me correctly. And he's been short listed at least one other time. And M and Jim both got honourable mentions this month, too.
Congrats to you all. Well done.

Christa, I don’t know that I’d call Poetry a fun group. It used to be! I think it takes itself a little too seriously. I’ve gotten mad enough to leave it a couple couple of times, but I always wind up curious to know what’s going on in there, and I end up rejoining.
I was reading some of the threads and I would have to agree with Guy that the WSS looks like more fun. I saw Jim and M in the honorable mentions, but I couldn't find their poems.
Edward? Are you saying you got kicked from Poetry?
Don't be silly; I've never been kicked out of anything in my life. Except that one time, and I'm not even sure where the donkey came from. No, I was just quoting from Kat's favorite television show.
Oh. I failed to mention that Jim has also been shortlisted in the Poetry group's monthly poetry thing, too, if memory serves me correctly. I think more than once.
