Yay. Today is officially my birthday! I don't plan on doing much (as I already had a dinner with my brother a few days ago to celebrate the occasion) but I am still excited about it.
Re: the disappearance of Belly Peterson.Belly has in a PM told me that he is alive and well, and that for personal reasons it was he who expunged that persona from the WSS, Goodreads and the web.
Oh! At least he's okay :) can you please tell him that I miss his haiku? Please? Please? :)) Thank you, Guy!
Thank you Guy for the birthday mention. And yes we all miss Belly in general. I regret I never got to comment on his blog which I felt had awesome haiku on there as well as on this site.
Heard it through the grapevine that today is International Talk Like A Pirate Day. So yeah, that exists. AAARRGGHH mateys!
Krispy Kreme will give you a free doughnut if you come in talking like a pirate. We're all pirates here, so our usual mannerisms should suffice (not really).
Well I'm making a fan fic character that is the son of dick GRAYSON and Barbra Gordon what should his superhero name be
Happy weekend! :))
Belated Happy birthday, Lilian! :)
I kind of don't get this "recommendations" of books on the home page now. Because I have listed the Bible it thinks because of that I will be interested in a book about the Beatles. :P
(My account didn't get hacked, this really is me.)Hey all you guys! So I found this free writing course online and it looks really cool!
It's called the Future of Storytelling, and I think it'll be a great resource. Ya'll should sign up. 'Cause you know. It's free.
Here's the link: https://iversity.org/c/6?r=fd689
Plus, you guys signing up will help me become an ambassador. So there's that, haha.
I'm going to be posting this in a few other groups. Sorry for the repeats, but it's an awesome resource and everyone should know about it.
Wow, Kat, thank you for sharing! I'm going to sign up in a while :)
Just a sort of warning guys, the mice plan their revenge seriously. If you can't beat them, might as well join them :D
Leslie wrote: "Just a sort of warning guys, the mice plan their revenge seriously. If you can't beat them, might as well join them :D"Hmm... Leslie's got a point. I don't think anyone on this ship has ever beat the mice, and Sara's definitely tried.
Does anyone else here find it amusing that our crew is constantly being outsmarted by rodents conjured from M's imagination?
Lol! Because it's M :D
By the way, welcome back Kyra! I'm not running away :))

Yay, thanks Ryan :) I think I have to swab the decks, or serve drinks, or feed the mice more often now :D Good morning!
Congratulations, Leslie and Ryan and Ajay! And congratulations to Jim for an honorable mention in the November Goodreads Newsletter contest, for his poem “Sea Fireflies of Mindoro.”
Thank you, M :)
Congratulations Jim!! Hmm, I haven't been to Mindoro :P

Thank you, M.Good news about Jim. I seem to see your name and Jim's name appearing over there quite frequently. Obviously someone on the board has an eye for great writing.
It wasn’t until a few minutes ago, when I turned a shoehorn upside down, that I noticed that the department-store name Dillard’s is in Goudy Oldstyle.
So (I think it was Kat, but it might have been someone else) put up a link to a free course online about storytelling. The other day the teacher was explaining the difference between the Story and the Plot. I am going to restate it here, both to clarify it in my own mind and also to see what you folks think of her explanation. So the story is this line -------
You break up the line into say three pieces A- B- C-
Then you rearrange the pieces. B- A- C-
Thus the plot is the telling of the story, leaving out details that are unimportant and putting in the important ones at different places.
What do you think? (Does this question need to be put somewhere else? If so I can move it.)
