I know. As soon as it's out, I'm there or really soon after! I'm totally seeing that in theaters if it's the last thing I do.Oh my gosh. I just finished reading Divergent by Veronica Roth. What an amazing book!
M wrote: "I think we should screen any member who looks as though he’s here just to make a nuisance of himself."Oooh. Hmm. Don't look at my "picture" anyone. In case I get screened. . . :P
Idk I have been in a writing funk lately. I hate that this seems to happen a certain time every year. I go crazy with writing. . . and then I just don't feel like doing anything after a while. Sigh.
I remember posting that! I was curious to see if they would take it seriously and kick me out.It seems like it’s the times I least feel like writing that I hit pay dirt, if I can just make myself do it.
Eh, I'll come too. I like poetry, but I know I'm awful at it. My problems vary from "thinking too much" to "having no sense of rhythm."Anyway, geek fact time: the simple arcade Centipede, in which you transfigurate parts of a centipede rushing through a forest of mushrooms to kill you, has a detailed backstory that shows it to be the first horror survival video game. Zombies wiping out ninety percent of the population is less depressing than this story. I'd rather experience the sado-machistic storyline of F.E.A.R..
Ugh. Just a tip for all you guys out there, if you're planning on asking a girl to prom, don't do it in front of everyone and two, ask her, don't give her a piece of paper! Especially when you've never previous spoken to her. I mean, what if she just wanted to just go alone? Now you've tied her hands. She can't say no in front of everyone. That would be mean. Sorry, I just had to vent. Maybe I'll write something heart wrenching today while I listen to Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye. Or read a murder mystery....
Point taken, Stephanie. I'll never ask a girl to the prom, but I'll remember that next time I ask someone on a date. You wouldn't remember it as horror filled. The game itself doesn't offer any explanation, but the manual that comes with the home version does. They give you a comic book that details how the centipede (and scorpion and ant-thing) decided they should kill you. (You, but the way, are a little elf with a wand.)
Well, the thing is, they didn't. They're under mind control of an evil wizard who wants the wand for himself (and, in fact, accuses you of stealing it). Oh, and the centipede is actually your best friend.
It's a game about wholesale slaughter of your friends. And not the monstrosity-zombie-type either.
So, have fun!
It seems my sister always fixed me up with someone. It never turned out well. A sister wants her brother to marry someone nice, trustworthy, responsible, self-respecting, and unexciting.
By the way, I’m an exception to Stephanie’s moderator title. I can easily write a story, but I can rarely think of one.

That’s what people down here say when it’s raining but the sun is shining: “The devil’s beating his wife!”
I just tried to go on Facebook. All I get is a blank page. We have the slowest baud rate in the South. Sometimes Facebook will come up early in the morning. That’s usually when I try to post a photo. After I click to post it, I have time to iron a shirt while the information transfers. The transmission varies between about 4 kilobytes and 25 kilobytes per second. It’s gotten slower since Verizon bought out Alltel. Alltel was the worst cell-phone service in the nation until Verizon (formerly GTE and Bell Atlantic) got in the business.
Lol. Okay, sorry; that's probably not funny, but I was just reminded of an episode of Gilmore Girls. That really stinks, M.
That joke never fails. Well, except that one night, but luckily most records of that event have been redacted.
Hey guys, I just entered for a scholarship and part of it is getting votes on my essay so I can go to the next round. You don't even have to read it if you don't want to you.... Just vote, if you don't minds. :)http://blog.scholarshippoints.com/sch...
Not bad; there are missing commas between linked independent clauses, and the sentence cohesion isn't fantastic. You make your point well though and organized everything as needed.
Avengers ... just Avengers ..."Hawkeye, survey the area, give us numbers and attack patterns. Iron Man, cordon the area; if anything comes within thirty feet turn it away or burn it to cinders. Thor, thin them out at the opening. Agent Romanov and I will keep the fighting here.
"Hulk ... smash." - Captain America
It was everything I wanted out of the movie, which is considerably more than I expected. It was hilarious and action filled, but not without a good plot and even good philosophical tension."You were made to bow down."
"But not to the likes of you."
"This is just like in Buddapest."
"You and I remember Buddapest very differently."
"Cap, perhaps you should sit this one out. He's basically a god."
"There's only one God, ma'am, and I'm fairly certain he doesn't dress like that."
It's also very quotable. Very.
Extremely quotable:"If we can't save the Earth, we can damn well avenge it."
"I don't even know what this thing does."
"I'm surprised he hasn't ask you to sign his vintage Captain America trading cards yet."
"He's my brother."
"He killed over eighty people in two days."
"He's adopted."
"Take off that suit and what are you?"
"Billionaire, genius, playboy, philanthropist."
"How many times are yu going to fall for that?"
"You think they'd put me in a crowded pressurized tube underwater? Oh, no, this is much worse."
"Please tell me nobody kissed me."
"How does Fury see all these?"
"He turns."
"That's exhausting."
"Who wants Sawarma? I want Sawarma. I don't even know what Sawarma is."
The quotes aren't even close to the best part of the movie. But ... it's ... so ... easy ...
'When are you ever not going to fall for that?''I'm in the middle of an interrogation and this fool is giving me everything.'
I was afraid they did like with a lot of movies lately and put all the good parts in the previews.
"He's my brother.""He killed over eighty people in two days."
"He's adopted."
I love that one! I haven't seen the movie yet but I'm planning too.
It is the perfect comic book movie. There's a moment with Loki and Hulk. It drives forth the story, exasparates the philosophical conflict that makes up the central theme - and made the theater crowd nearly pass out for cheering and laughter.
Sorry - let's talk about something else before Stephanie explodes. We can't risk that; the contests would get boring. So ... who has a dog?
Lol. Boring would they? I used to have a dog but it's been... let's see at least nine years since then.
Uh, right now I'm working on a story for this week's contest. Other than that, I'm kind of working on a novel that's going to be in first person present. It'll be sort of like a "prequel" to one of my other yet unfinished novels. It's basically about how the character came to be who she is. Everytime I write about her, I keep learning more and more about her past. I know, it's a little cliche sounding but I find myself gravitating towards her story so I figured I might as well write it.
That makes sense to me. The whole purpose of rewriting chapter four of After Dark is that no one seemed to particularly like Septimus Hart, so I decided they should see some of what I see: his past. I'm not writing a whole prequel on him (though that could work), but I think a series of flashbacks actually helps add an intriguing dimension to the story, especially as it is supposed to be a debut, the first of many.
