What are you reading?
I think the main reason I enjoyed those books (although I still have to read the last one) is Lisbeth. I love her, she instantly became one of my favourite characters.I also like that Larsson works issues of sexism and misogyny into the plot, it gives it substance. And I think Erica's relationship with her husband and Blomkvist is awesome.
A very interesting take on Swedish life. Have you seen this?

I think it's kind of hilarious! ;D
LOL, that's very good!"But where in Sweden were they? There was no way to know, especially if you’d never been to Sweden."
Hahahaha! I ignored almost all the place names, I just read: she's at home now. He is far away. She is very far away but he is catching up to her. Etc.
Good luck with he next two weeks then!
Yea but this one is a bit different than the series so far, will let you know how it goes :)

Flashforward is soooo interesting!!! Its not like the series. Only 2 characters are the same. Its seems the series only used the idea. But wow this book is fascinating!

Yes, she is quite a good character. Too bad that in the first book she seems to play a minor role (at least based on the amount of text devoted to her).
In the second things pick up somewhat and I definitely enjoyed the 2nd one much more. Guess part of the reason was that much more attention was given to Lisbeth.

I think you might like the second one more, it's more fast-paced, more focused, and reveals more about Lisbeth.
Cool! She's a very strange character, I still dont know if I really like her or if she anoys me, all I know is I cant wait to see who they cast to play her in the movie...
I'm looking forward to reading the next
Oh Lauren, I got the Colour of Magic!!!!! Thought I'd give Pratchet a try :)

Cool, let me know what you think! It's not my favourite Pratchett (Rincewind kind of annoys me), but other people like it a lot.
I'm liking it so far... its very weird and different to what I'm use to, but I thought I'd start with the beginning of the series (Thanks to Crusaders recomendation :))

That's weird - usually it's that he's so popular his books are always in stock. Although of course, it doesn't mean that ALL of them are always in stock.I hope I can complete my collection one day :)
Well if I like him then I'll start collecting, there are so many books in this series!!!!
I go to a rather small bookstore, but their great because they order the books for me and phone me when their there and their kind of cheap! Its great :)
Looking for some Atwood books to, and then also some by Lisa See

I just finished reading Prayers for rain by Dennis Lehane and thanks Lauren for recommended this writer to me, it was fantastic. But currently I am reading some spiritual books, one about the prophet Jeremiah, which is quite interesting. I think I am going to start reading a drin before the war soon. I am a bit busy lately though just dont have time
See I told you Lauren, you're great at recommending books!!!!!!

Niecole,
Just finished it and was brilliant...quick paced, action packed, easy dialogue. Overall a satisfying read.
Would recommend it to Urban Fantasy fans. Onward and upward to book #2.
M
Mmmmm Urban Fantasy, dont know if I'd like that :)

I like Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Horror and some times Suspense. Oh and I read Mills & Boon when I'm bored. I think I'm uninspired... I don't want to be uninspired! Help!!!
Why dont you try out a new series?
For Horror, have you read The Ammityville Horror?

Ammityville Horror is very good, message me if you want me to send it to you
Sookie Stackhouse? No haven't read it yet. I haven't been too enthusiastic to read it though because I watched both seasons of the TV series. Are the books different to the series?
I've got some Margaret Atwood books I could send you... The Penelopiad is rather good. So is the Handmaids Tale.
I've also got some Stephen King

Sonette wrote: "Sookie Stackhouse? No haven't read it yet. I haven't been too enthusiastic to read it though because I watched both seasons of the TV series. I watched a few episides of True Blood ut found it too dark for me, and I much preferred the books which are light and funny, you cannot compare the 2, so I would say give them a shot.
Emma wrote: "Sonette wrote: "Sookie Stackhouse? No haven't read it yet. I haven't been too enthusiastic to read it though because I watched both seasons of the TV series. Are the books different to the series..."Thanks Emma, definitely moving Sookie to the top of my reading list!
Niecole wrote: "Lu, have you not finished Wuthering yet???? Hehe.I'm reading

Hey Emma
The Other Queen is good, but trust me, its not Gregory's best work. It starts out slow, really slow, but then it picks up, and now I find that I cant put it down! Its written in 3 perspectives, so that makes it interesting as well
Do you like reading about royalty Emma?

Hi Crusader. The first book initially disturbed me somewhat, but I loved the second book and therefore the third -- I wanted to know what happened to the characters. I fear that if you didn't like the second book much, then the third one won't do anything for you either!
