I finished up Hush, Hush. I liked the author's take on angels. Honestly, though, I do not really see why Nora falls for Patch; he is sarcastic pretty much all of the time and every other thing he says to her is an innuendo. He never really seems to treat her any differently until the very end. But otherwise I did really enjoy the story and recommend it if you like YA.

Erin (erin-b) I just picked up Camelot 3000 (DC Comics Series) by Mike W. Barr from the library this afternoon. It's interesting so far.

I am butting in, but I loved the Blue Bloods series. It is one of my favorite YA series. I am currently waiting for The Van Alen Legacy to come in at the library.

message 3905: by Kasey (new)

Kasey | 70 comments Thanks Cherra. I love to hear opinions on books. I ordered "The Van Alen Legacy" too, but I haven't even read the first one so I'm behind. They aren't due to arrive until next week. I hate waiting, but military mail is kinda slow usually.

I have it sitting here from the library, waiting for November since I have it on my challenge list. Thanks for the review Nita. :)

message 3909: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) Your welcome!

I started another YA book this morning, Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater . This one is about a teen who falls in love with a werewolf. I have read the first couple chapters and it looks like the point of view goes back and forth between the teen, Grace, and the werewolf, Sam. I like what I have read so far.

I so feel the same way Rebecca!! Here is my advice, I would savor the BDB books as long as you can since we have a good 6 months until Lover Mine comes out! I just finished Lover Avenged and I'm already going thru serious withdrawal for the Brothers! LOL I also read the Merry series and LOVE it! So I would say if you haven't already made a decision go with Merry, then get back to the brothers and savor them ;) Good luck and let us know what you decided :)

FlibBityFLooB I'm listening to an audiobook at work: The Scent of Shadows The First Sign of the Zodiac. You can read the first 80 pages of it online at the following URL: http://browseinside.harpercollins.com/index.aspx?isbn13=9780060898915. It's been very interesting so far, but I'm only about 65 pages in (approximation since it's an audiobook!)

Also, I'm reading an old favorite of mine at home... The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I remembered it being funny, and it still is! I needed a book written in 1979 for a challenge I'm doing, so I decided to re-read this one :)

The Scent of Shadows The First Sign of the Zodiac by Vicki Pettersson The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Hitchhiker's Guide, #1) by Douglas Adams

message 3913: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) That sucks Samantha! I hope you are able to find it somewhere.

FlibBityFLooB - I LOVE The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I have read it a few times and it makes me laugh every time. :D

BJ Rose (bjrose) | 443 comments I'm waiting for Lover Avenged from the library - it's finally 'in transit' - so in the meantime I'm listening to Garth Nix's Keys to the Kingdom series; just finished Grim Tuesday (bk. #2). It's a fun & fast-moving fantasy

Okay took everyones advice and started
Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #3) by J.R. Ward last night. I might stick to the BDB bandwagon and go back to Merry when I get all her books delivered to me.

Valorie | 426 comments I'm finishing up Bite Marks (Jaz Parks, #6) by Jennifer Rardin , and Death's Daughter (Calliope Reaper-Jones, #1) by Amber Benson . I'm loving Bite Marks, another great Jaz Parks saga!! I'm only about 50 pages into Death's Daughter but so far it seems like a smart and funny read.

Hi there, butting in. Soulless is FANTASTIC. Probably the best book I've read all year.

message 3941: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (theholyterror) | 313 comments Started Grave Secret (Harper Connelly, #4) by Charlaine Harris last night. I was going to wait for the paperback but I really wanted to know how the series was going to end. I'm not very far in, only about 70 pages, but it already feels like settling in with an old friend. Sigh ... I'll be sad when it's over though. : (

message 3943: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) I just finished Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater . I really adore this book. People keep comparing it to the Twilight books, but I enjoyed it so much more. Stiefvater gives a really unique take on werewolves. I also thought the love story much more believable between Sam and Grace than Bella and Edward. I think I just found it a sweeter story.

I am going to start Beyond the Rain by Jess Granger .

I'm the same, Kayanna, about first-person narrative, and I've put many books down because of it. But sometimes it really works, and when it does, it's great. I heard so many good things about Poison Study by Maria Snyder that I was eager to read it, but then was dismayed to see it was first person. I soon realized that it just wouldn't have been as gripping otherwise.
