The third BDB book is my favorite! I adore Z. Have fun reading it!

That sucks about the grammatical errors. I don't know French, so it didn't bother me. The cover is just wrong. Heather looks nothing like that!

new_user | 1389 comments Glad you liked it, Cherra! Mead is a good writer. Even if that first book suffers, the character relationships are still compelling and her plot runs smooth.

Kat (pokeybeevs) | 10 comments I just finished Heart of the Dragon (Atlantis 1) by Gena Showalter. It was pretty good, but not nearly as good as her Lords of the Underworld books. I'm now reading Out of the Darkness (Offspring, Book 2) by Jaime Rush.

I am currently reading Bound to Shadows (Riley Jenson Guardian, #8) by Keri Arthur

I read Storm Born in 1 day. A lot of people said it had "first book syndrome" so I think I was expecting to not like it and I was pleasantly surprised. I just started Thorn Queen last night so I can't say how the book as a whole is, but I am liking it so far--and everyone really raves about this one.

Heather (sparkleyturtle) | 151 comments Just finished Lover Enshrined (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #6) by J.R. Ward . Yeah, I liked it, but it didn't give me the rush the others did. Now I am trying to figure out if I continue in order and read The Black Dagger Brotherhood An Insider's Guide by J.R. Ward or Lover Avenged (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #7) by J.R. Ward

message 3859: by Laura Lulu (new)

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) I really liked Lover Avenged--it was my fave after Lover Awakened. Z & Rehv are my 2 fave brothers, but I think John Michael will be joining the ranks after Lover Mine. :)

Kasey - You should definitely check out this series! Mead did an amazing job and created a really believable world with complicated characters and a good plot that just sucks you in. The only downside, is that the series is just starting so book 3 doesn't come out until next year!

Heather I went ahead and read LAv before I finished the Insiders Guide and I don't think it makes much difference..... IMHO..... In fact I am now back to read the insiders guide and it's reminding me of a alot of things I forgot from the first books ;) I'm using the insiders guide as something to get me through until Lover Mine comes out next year ;)

I read the short story in the Insiders guide, first, because I thought I had to and it made no difference. Truely. I'm with Suz, read Lover Avenged, then go back to the insiders guide to help pass the time till Love Mine comes out!

You have to let us know what you think of this book - I've been wanting to get it just for the Janiene Frost story, but have been holding off.

Will do, I picked it up at the library last night. From what I've read about it, there's a ton of stories, but they're all really short. I'm not expecting much from it, using it more as a guide to see what authors jump out at me.

I about half way through now and so far I think that it's my favourite so far. I can't wait to finish it and find out how everything turns out. There are so many unanswered questions that I find it so hard to put the book down whenI start reading but with school and everything I don't really have time to read alot and it feels like its taking me forever to finish and it's killing me to have to waait to find out what will happen!

I am wondering if I should continue reading Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #3) by J.R. Ward lover awakened or should I continue with Merry Gentry Mistral's Kiss (Meredith Gentry, #5) by Laurell K. Hamilton Mistral's kiss?

what do you guys think?

Jessa ♥ EvilDarkSide (metalgirl80) I couldn't put the BDB series down. I read them back to back all the way up to Lover Enshrined and then I had to wait for Lover Avenged. It was torture. I dont see how you can put them down....so, you know what my vote is.

I can't wait tile Christmas holidays, no school, so I'll have more time to spend on reading and not just things for. school

Jennifer (jnhart) I'm reading Dexter in the Dark (#3 in the series that Shotime's Dexter is based on). I thought I loved the TV series until I read the books. They're awesome.

Also reading Foxmask and Last Battle of the Icemark.

Just finished 2 books from 2 of my favorite series: the Dresden Files and Mercy Thompson. #3 on the waiting list for my next Dresden book at the library :(

I feel the same way about the True Blood TV show and books. I watch the TV show but everyone says the books are fantasitc. Do they follow the same storylines?

Jessa ♥ EvilDarkSide (metalgirl80) True Blood is not following the books very close. Season 1 stuck with the major plot points but Season 2 has kind of gone awry. I love the show and I love the books....I just have to remember to keep them separate or it will drive me crazy. The books are wonderful.

My thoughts exactly. The show is so different that I think of it more like a brand new story and try to forget about what actually happened in the books. Which unfortunately is kind of easy since I read them when they came out and it's been almost 10 years now.

I know what you mean! I read a little in high school, then was in college for 6 years part time while I worked and never had time to read at all, and if I did I was too drained from reading text books. But I finished last year and now I have a ton of free time and the desire again to read and it's so great! Hang in there!
