Finished and loved
(5 stars). Also, read
(4 stars),
(4 stars), and
(3 stars). Then I re-read all the Kate Daniel series by Ilona Andrews, one of my favorite.
Now I´m enjoying the Paranormal Women's Fiction series, written by different UF authors. So far I´ve finished
(5 stars),
(4.3),
(3.6),
(3,6) and
(4.3). Here is the list of authors participating in this series https://www.paranormalwomensfiction.net/

it was okay...Now I'm reading
which is also just okay so far ... I'm finding it way too easy to put down...

4 starsI love her Mortal Instruments series, but this time period thing is not my style, like Infernal Devices. Also, a storyline that is unpleasant and drags through the whole story and is not resolved by the end bugs me.
On to Covert Evidence

I love any of Frost's books. She is exceptional.

. It Ends with Us was really good, but heartbreaking too.Now I'm reading
, which has been better than I expected so far.My library is closing for 2 weeks for the cornovirus so hopefully I can keep myself busy with the books I have at home and my kindle, and hopefully I don't bankrupt myself using the kindle lol.
I'm reading the new Mercy Thompson release, Smoke Bitten. I really like this series. But you should start with book 1 otherwise you'll be lost. She's a magical being, who seems to attract trouble and all she wants to do is just be a mechanic and do the right thing. Book 1 is Moon Called. Great series to binge read.

I love this series and I know she is building up to something but the last two or three have been a bit slow.
I liked the latest Mercy Thompson but I felt like a lot of the plot had already been done earlier in the series. I don't want to give any spoilers. The book needed more Stefan in my opinion.

Emily wrote: "I am an avid reader of paranormal romance. I think I have read every book written by JR Ward and Christine Feehan. Lately, I have started reading (and reviewing) only self-published authors. If you..."I tend to read a lot of indie romance in general and tend to prefer a lot of them over others because they can push the boundaries in ways that mainstream authors aren't allowed. Many of my favorites are indies and many of my most disliked books are mainstream. IMO there are just as many badly written books by trad pubbed authors as there are indie, just perhaps in different ways.
OK, so I have loads to offer, quite a few of which are KU
T.S. Joyce is one of my go to 'comfort read' PNR authors, in particular of novella length shifter stories. Admittedly her books are formulaic, but her world and the narrative arc in her Damon’s Mountains Universe especially is really interesting and most of her characters are so loveable. There's lots of humor in her books as well as some angst, some action and a wonderful lack of billionaires and the uber-wealthy as she focuses much more on 'normal' working people, albeit ones who transform into various different animals! She also includes some characters with disabilities or illnesses of various sorts and has not been afraid of including a few alpha females too. And family dynamics play heavily into her plots.
I've also enjoyed Ridgeville Series and Grayslake Series which are both by Celia Kyle and are also plenty of fun, with some angst included in a few of the books.
A new one I've discovered recently is Zoe Chant. Only 2 novellas in and her Fae Shifter Knights is already a firm and incredibly fun favorite about knights that travel into the mortal realm after being trapped in glass Xmas ornaments! And there is so much more to discover from these authors.
And another recent discovery is Shifting Seasons Series. On the whole it's well written but I found it a tad on the bland side, although I'm definitely in the minority there.
Some others I've read including some standalones,
Darkling Trilogy by A.D. Koboah
Witch For Hire series by Shyla Colt
At Death It Begins trilogy by Elle Jefferson
Pearl Vampire Chronicles by Dara J. Nelson
is high fantasy and really entertaining and was a surprising one for me. Now I just need to get to the other 3 that are currently out in her Deadlands series.
This is not romance, and is high fantasy and is FANTASTIC. The author also has two other series's currently on going that interest me, one is steampunk and the other is high fantasy with gene spliced cat people!
Also not a romance but is HILARIOUS! and is perma free on kobo and kindle. Includes a unicorn shifter BFF, a sassy grandma and two possible love interests.
by one of my favorite CR authors, this is her only PNR so far.
high fantasy shortie
a MM werewolf story
was a standalone when I read it
well written but a bit bland IMO
same as aboveHere's hoping at least one of these sparks your interest!
Emily wrote: "... Has anyone else read a self-published book that you found really good?"And it wouldn't be a proper rec if I didn't mention my beloved Green Creek a MM werewolf/witch series, which MUST be read in order. Although this series started out with an indie press, they stopped paying their authors so TJ Klune was lucky enough to be in a position buy back his rights and has reissued the series himself. These books are beautifully written with so much heart and are very strong character wise but with strong themes and plot.
this is one of my favorite books with my actual favorite character of all time.

Sadly it wasn't one of my favorites ... it was just okay for me.

It was okay...Now I'm halfway through
and honestly I'm just bored... I really hope it picks up soon considering how long this book is ....
I just binge read the entire Hailey Edwards Necromancer series. It has some humor, quirky characters, and some mysteries to solve. Heroine is a necromancer who was accused of killing her aunt and has been in prison since she was 16. She is just released by her other aunt who says she didn't do it.
She is trying to pick up the pieces of her life and re-learn her magic. There are 2 love interests, (not a love triangle, she is with one guy and then after that the other guy, not at the same time)
There are 8 books.
