Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) I have quite a few books I own to read but I just got like 23 books from the library to get reading, some are due November 2nd so I best get reading huh?

Right now though I am a little half way through Ellen Shcreiber's Vampire Kisses Book 2- Kissing Coffins, I should be done with it today.

message 3803: by Nita (last edited Oct 21, 2009 08:01AM) (new)

Nita (gillnit) I finished up Queene of Light (Lightworld/Darkworld, #1) by Jennifer Armintrout last night. I liked the plot and really liked Malachi, but found the heroine, Ayla, kind of blah. I read the review for the next in the series, Child of Darkness (Lightworld/Darkworld, #2) by Jennifer Armintrout , and it looks like her daughter, Cerridwen, is the main character. I hope I like her better.

Now I am reading [image error] .

I know right, good thing I can read like 50-60 pages in an hour. and some of them are pretty thin, nothing more than 400 pages here. I think LOL.

message 3805: by Susan (Suz) (new)

Susan (Suz) (sharney) | 253 comments Yeah at least they are relatively short Samantha! I so wish I could just sit and read right now, it's horrible weather here and I'd much rather be curled up in front of a fire than at work :(:(

message 3806: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) yeah I am unemployed and a full timr student, plnty of time to read when I am not dinking around on the computer, doing homework, or running my ten million errands lol. However I did apply for a job at my library district lol.

Yeah it's nasty snowing here, wish I didn't have to do what I have to do today, I would curl up with a blanket, heating pad and my huge stack of books LOL!

message 3807: by Sara (new)

Sara (crestedwlf) | 5 comments I am currently reading Harmony's Way by Lora Leigh. It is of her Breed Novels and will continue to work through the Breeds along with all of her books. I read multiple books a week so right now it is all about the Lions, wolves and coyotes.

message 3808: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Finished Soulless last night by Gail Carriger and I loved it. Just posted my review. Highly recommended!

message 3809: by Laura (new)

Laura (thatlibrarianlady) I recently finished Dead and Gone by Charlaine Harris and I can't wait to read the next one. Oh, how I love Eric.

Now reading Wuthering Heights to take a little break from the paranormal (and trying to read books I already have).

message 3810: by Reyna (new)

Reyna | 3 comments I am reading Rachel caine's Morganville vampires, i also am waiting for some books to come out, Like Patrica Briggs and The mercy Thimson series, and Wake series by lisa mccmann, and i think thats it. :)

message 3811: by FlibBityFLooB (new)

FlibBityFLooB I'm reading Bit the Jackpot (Vegas Vampires, #2) by Erin McCarthy , about 1/2 way through.

There's been some very funny scenes with a 400 year old vampire chasing around a dog he calls Satan.

message 3812: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments FlibBityFLooB, that one was infinitely better than the first. The leads are vastly more likable. I'd actually forgotten about that series. I need to see if I can rustle up the rest from the library, if only to learn more about the Frenchman!

message 3813: by FlibBityFLooB (new)

FlibBityFLooB Michelle M. wrote: "FlibBityFLooB, that one was infinitely better than the first. The leads are vastly more likable."

I agree, wholeheartedly. My biggest complaint about the last book in this series was its lack of humor. This one has had me laughing out loud quite a bit. I am really enjoying it :)

message 3814: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Spot on. The first was very forced. And the chick was just a bitch. She totally missed the mark in the witty banter department for the first in the series! But she makes up for it, thankfully.

McCarthy seems to be a bit hit and miss for me.

message 3815: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) I finished up [image error] . I enjoyed it and will definitely continue the series. How can you not enjoy a book with dragons, Arthurian legend, and space travel?

Now I am reading Shadowlight A Novel of the Kyndred by Lynn Viehl , Lynn Viehl's first book in a new series. I believe, though, that it takes place in the same time and world as her Darkyn series.

message 3816: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) since my last post I am now reading vampire kisses book 4 dance with a vampire and I started it like a little before midnight and I got in 27 at 12:15 before I crashed out.

message 3827: by Melissa (new)

Melissa I'm reading Hunter's Moon by C.T. Adams. I'm REALLY struggling with whether or not I'm going to finish it. It started out fine, but it's getting worse by the page! It's getting too cheesy for me and the descriptions of smells are annoying now that they have been repeated over and over. The character interaction is getting ridiculous. Anyone else read this or the series? Does it get better? Should I stick it out or give up?

message 3828: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) Just finished City of Ashes, and am about to start City of Glass. I'm excited to find out what happens next.

I am currently reading Thorn Queen (Dark Swan, #2) by Richelle Mead and am enjoying it so far. Hopefully Dorian shows up more....soon :)

message 3833: by Laura Lulu (new)

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) I finished Covet (Fallen Angels, #1) by J.R. Ward yesterday and really did not love it. I've read all the BDB's and while I liked some more than others, I don't remember them being so cheesy. There were a few times in the book where it was supposed to be a romantic moment and I found myself laughing out loud by the total cheesefest. Oh, well.

I started Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh last night and I'm really liking it. I think I'm more a UF fan than a PNR fan--don't get me wrong, I love when there's some romance, but I don't like when the romance takes away from storyline--I need a good story first, then romance. I thought (based on the cover) that this book would be more romance central, but I'm really liking the storyline as well, so I was pleasantly suprised. :)

Tonya--what did you think about Storm Born (Dark Swan, #1) by Richelle Mead ?

I just started it. I think I am in a PNR-UF rut. Nothing is really roping me in right now. Hopefully this book will!

message 3837: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) I finished Shadowlight A Novel of the Kyndred by Lynn Viehl . It does take place in the same world as her Darkyn series and a couple of familiar characters are in the book. Looking forward to the next one.

I am starting Pleasure (Shadowdwellers Series #3) by Jacquelyn Frank today. It is the third in the Shadowdweller series by Jacquelyn Frank.

message 3838: by new_user (new)

new_user | 1389 comments Oh, Laura, you're in for a treat! There's even more plot later with the Psy-Changeling series. The first book was originally intended as a standalone, but the rest were written with an overarching plot in mind, and it's so exciting as she reveals more.

Hi Cherra, well....it wasn't great by any means. I enjoyed and gave it 3 stars but it didn't suck me in like alot of books do. It actually took me a few days to read it which is unusual for me. But after reading so many posts about it having first book in a series syndrome, I am hoping Thorn Queen is better. I have liked what I have read so far, but again it hasn't sucked me in either, guess we shall see since I am only about 90 pages in. I will be curious to see what you think.

It wa the same for me it took forever to get into Storm Born, it took me a few days to read it. It gets a little better by the end. Thorn Queen was better though it still took a little bit (maybe the first 100 page or so)to get going.

How did you like Dark Lover and the start of Lover Eternal, Rebecca?

message 3846: by Rebecca (Bec) (new)

Rebecca (Bec) | 248 comments I really enjoyed it and I think Im hooked. I find that the brothers are like a cross between Sherilyn Kenyon's Dark hunters and Christine Feehan's Carpathians. I really like how Rhage's story is beginning. I found it funny, the guy is not used to being turned down and his reaction to Mary's 'stray dog'comment was priceless. I can see it being a learning curve for him already, depending on how much longer Mary will hold out on him!

I ♥ Bookie Nookie (bookienookiereviews.blogspot.com) (ibookienookie) Ok, so I finished Storm Born (Dark Swan, #1) by Richelle Mead last night. Maybe it was b/c of my low expectations of the book--not just from everyones comments yesterday, but I had heard it suffered first book syndrome...but I really like it! I finished it in a day so that is saying something.
