Didn't like

Got this on my birthday recently, as well as

Can't wait to go through them once I get through KOA

Also, at the same time

However, Thalassa is pulling it off. Callie is her own woman and although she loves Des, she resists him, she challenges him, and she stubbornly argues with him. And he fights back...playfully. He's a very interesting male lead and I think that is why the "mates" thing isn't bothering me so much. They're not controlled by the attraction and despite the romantic focus, Thalassa has fun world building and I'm having fun with her.

Also at the same time, starting a new series, making the most of my KU trial,

But....it has the flaw of starting us right in the middle of everything. I don't know...there's something about the way it all is framed and flows that makes it feel like less of an introduction and more like the catch up summary in the beginning of books in a series already in full swing. I'm getting it, at least but the referrals and emotional beats make me feel like I'm missing something, if that makes sense.

The Emperor Of Evening Stars is my favorite book of The Bargainer series. I absolutely loved Desmond. I hope you like it.

Same. From all the Bargainers books, the novella is actually my favourite ;D

I know! I even feel ashamed of how many times I've re-read them, no matter that there are so many new books to discover.

Sooo true, I've got a pile of new books I actually do want to read...but somehow quite often end up re-reading The Others instead. Just can't help myself ;p

Hi CB! This series sounds like it's right up my alley. But do I have to read the Jane Yellowrock series to understand what's going on in this world?

Now I'm reading

Hi Treena - there definitely is a fair amount of reference to the Yellowrock series and world, especially in this most recent book, which featured the background and history of Rick LaFleur. And there are a handful of other side characters that were in the Yellowrock series that now instead have roles in the Soulwood novels.
However, this is absolutely Nell Ingram’s series and her world, especially that of her family, the cult lifestyle she grew up in, and her land Soulwood are completely new. And I love the paranormal FBI aspect. I think having read the Yellowrock series enhances my reading, but I would say it’s not necessary. And honestly, the Yellowrock series has gotten so complex that I forget a lot of what has happened in that series anyway. I have actually come to prefer the Soulwood novels, and I think you would enjoy reading them.

Thanks CB! I'll go hunt up book 1 now. 😊

I need to catch up!"
I'll be reading the next one soon but I have a few that will expire sooner.
