♥Lynn ♥ | 519 comments I just read Cursed by Fire by Danielle Annett. I have never read anything like this. I mean I have because I have read the other UF/PNR books the plot lines come from, but I just don't understand how someone can take so many books and wrap them in one. I mean, to not even change the names of certain characters as well as certain phrases or labels that makes each story their own. If you are going to write a PNR/UF book use your own labels or phrases to make your book stand out. Don't use something so well known as Lyc-V or plot lines and slap your name on it. Those books have been written before. Write your own book. OMG I'm so floored right now.

I just started reading Fallen.. not sure how much I like it though? I'm struggling a little to get into the story.. Did everyone else like it? It's so popular and I'm a little disappointed I'm not enjoying it more.. I know its for teen/young adult but I liked Twilight so thought I'd like this... keen to hear any of your thoughts :)

I thought it would be better - like amazing and stuff - but it was ok.

Natalie Noblett | 37 comments Reading Seanan McGuire’s October Daye series. It’s good but nowhere near in league with Kate Daniel’s, Downside Ghosts, Mercy Thompson or Night Huntress. How does anyone else feel about the series? Might have a break and move onto Charlie Davidson - what do you think?

Absolutely. I got tired of October Daye a book or two ago. I love Charley Davidson.

Denise Nanna | 1321 comments Elemental Assassin was another I gave up on a book or two ago. Sometimes it seems like the series just goes on a little too long for me.

message 37164: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Noblett | 37 comments Thanks Bunnycore! I will definitely look into reading Elemental assassin and Merry Gentry.
I think I’m just getting fed up with waiting for Toby and Tybalt to get together! I’m on book six and still nothing - that is taking it a bit too slow for my liking!

Thank you... I always wonder how some books become SO popular and are not well written at all? I really like the Twilight movies but the books are not well written at all, and yet they sell in the millions! Weird...

Angela Verdenius (angelacatlover) It's not urban fantasy or PNR, but I'm on the final book of this awesome military/zombie Arisen series ARISEN, Book Fourteen - ENDGAME by Michael Stephen Fuchs
I've never read a military novel before, but this one is amazing. The camaraderie, the forcing of the different military sections having to come together and even getting mixed to battle the different forms of zombies and human enemies, as well as civilians having their own group - really awesome.

Bunnycore! I totally LOVED this book. Brishen melted my heart. And I loved the relationship he and Ildiko had. In fact, after I finished this a few days ago, I'm still on a book high --- so much so, that the books I'm reading after are leaving me feeling meh.

message 37199: by DemetraP (new)

DemetraP | 379 comments Awesome fantasy romance. Kael conquered four Kingdoms to save them from tyrants after he is made a slave in the mines. His chamberlain writes to every Kingdom asking for a bride for the King. The King has refused to bed any woman after he finds out women were sleeping with him because they thought he was a tyrant.

Everyone is afraid of the King and no one comes. But one family wants to get rid of their princess so they send her. Kael falls in love with her but she thinks he's a tyrant so she says she doesn't want him.

They go on a quest together to save her parent's kingdom and they fall in love.

This book made me laugh out loud so many times. It has funny moments and it's very hot to see what Kael is thinking about her and what she is thinking about him.

This is an amazing fantasy romance and it's going to be a comfort read for me. I see myself re-reading this book many times. The Midwinter Mail-Order Bride (Mail-Order Brides, #4) by Kati Wilde

I haven't finished them, I love a lot of fae stories and the characters in Merry's story are all interesting and different in their own ways, but dam that's a lot of dudes and the story sometimes gets lost in all the sex. In the end I found it ok. Has this series ended? I kind of dropped off of Laurell k. Hamilton's series since I got mad at Anita Blake lol
