Josie Jaffrey (josiejaffrey) | 56 comments I have a vlog that I run (channel @josiejaffrey), and I tend to watch vlogs of other vloggers who have reviewed the same books as us, to see how different their thoughts were from ours.

message 36814: by Timelord Iain (new)

Timelord Iain Yea, I started The Queen and the Cure (The Bird and the Sword Chronicles, #2) by Amy Harmon yesterday... been good so far...

Been listening to And the Rest is History (The Chronicles of St Mary’s, #8) by Jodi Taylor ... this is a pretty dark one... if the author doesn't do what I hope she's going to do, it's going to be depressing...

message 36815: by Nadine (last edited May 25, 2017 12:13AM) (new)

Nadine Parker (vampirelover1) | 29 comments I am currently trying to read three books right now. Usually it wouldn't be very hard, but my husband and I are no longer together and somehow because of that I have had a hard time finding my joy of reading again, so it is taking longer than usual for me to read these three books. First I am reading an ARC by Raye Wagner called Daughter or Darkness Daughter of Darkness by Raye Wagner next I am reading The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare last I am reading Wicca for Beginners Wicca for Beginners A Guide to Wiccan Beliefs, Rituals, Magic, and Witchcraft by Lisa Chamberlain which is a non-fiction book about the Wicca religion.

Have you read Nalini's Psy-Changeling series? Also great.
The same goes for Patricia's Alpha & Omega series.

And of course, Ilona Andrews's Kate Daniels series ;)

message 36821: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Noblett | 37 comments Thanks, I haven't read Nalini's Psy-changeling series or The Alpha and Omega yet so will read those next. I read the Kate Daniels series and found that great. Also loved Kat and Bones in Frost's series. Only thing with Psy-changeling series is each book is about different characters isn't it? I like to follow through a series with mostly the same characters?
Thanks again

message 36822: by Mary (new)

Mary (maryyaroscavitch) | 2 comments I just started reading Aradia Awakens (Ovialell, #1) by Tish Thawer and I'd like to read Tish's other series Raven's Breath (The Women of Purgatory, #1) by Tish Thawer

While Psy-Changeling does have each book with different couple, they're still part of the same cast, so to say, so the further the books go, the more we get to see characters we've already read about and I think it was book 14 or 15, The Allegiance of Honor, which has all the major couples from previous books as the leads in it ;)

If you like books which follow the same characters (which I also love) not the same character cast, you should try Anne Bishop's The Other's series, Suzanne Wright's - Dark In You.
C.L Wilson's Tairen Soul series is more of fantasy, but still awesome.

message 36824: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Noblett | 37 comments Thanks everyone, a few more series to put on my to read list!

Some more good series that are the same characters in all the books:
Chicagoland Vampires
Charley Davidson
Weather Warden
Kim Harrison's Drafter series
The Queen of all that lives
Steelheart
Alex Craft
Irin Chronicles
October Daye
Kim Harrison's The Hollows

I second,
First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1) by Darynda Jones , Written in Red (The Others, #1) by Anne Bishop
Lord of the Fading Lands (Tairen Soul, #1) by C.L. Wilson

...I have yet to read the rest.

message 36828: by Timelord Iain (new)

Timelord Iain If you want some male leads there is:

Dresden Files
Iron Druid Chronicles
Alex Verus
Hellequin
Generation V

Jessica McClain is another series kinda similar to Mercy Thompson (MC has a lot more power tho... just doesn't know how to wield it yet...)

message 36829: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Noblett | 37 comments I haven't read many books with male mc's apart from the maze runner and half bad, so I will definitely give these a go, thanks.

message 36830: by Christine (last edited May 28, 2017 01:07PM) (new)

Christine | 5 comments Just started the Mercy Thompson series Moon Called (Mercy Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs Moon Called.

I thought this was just about werewolves, but Mercy is actually a shapeshifter, who shifts into a coyote.

The story is fast paced and has held my interest.

What are good werewolf centered books?

message 36831: by Nadine (new)

Nadine Parker (vampirelover1) | 29 comments I finished Daughter of Darkness Daughter of Darkness by Raye Wagner a few minutes ago, but I'm still reading City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare and Wicca for Beginners A Guide to Wiccan Beliefs, Rituals, Magic, and Witchcraft by Lisa Chamberlain .

message 36832: by Timelord Iain (new)

Timelord Iain @Christine: Alpha & Omega is about Samuel Cornick in Mercy universe

Kate Daniels is popular and has a Pack of all kinds of shifters...

Jessica McClain is the only female werewolf/lycan in her series (similar to the MC of Bitten I see you read)

John Charming is a werewolf/templar in Pax Arcana... the series explores both sides

Delving into PnR theres a ton to find... Suzanne Wright has 1 or 2 series... Shelly Laurenston has Magnus Pack, altho I much prefer her later Pride series which has a few wolves mixed in... I can add more later when I'm at my PC

message 36833: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Noblett | 37 comments I definitely second the Kate Daniel series and I think there is even one more to come out. There are 9 or 10 so far and I've enjoyed every one of them.

message 36834: by Timelord Iain (new)

Timelord Iain I liked all the series Bunnycore mentioned, except I read a different Moira Rogers series with weres...

Kate Daniels has 1 book left in the main storyline... should be out next year... this year is all about the Hidden Legacy trilogy that got delayed back in 2015... 2nd book out Tuesday and 3rd out at the end of July... can't wait... there's also the new character in book 10 to flesh out they said (don't want to spoil things)

LOVE LOVE The Dresden Files. They did one season of a TV show a few years back. I think it's on Netflix. But Harry Dresden is a great character!!

message 36836: by JoAnne (new)

JoAnne Read the most recent Jane Yellowrock - Cold Reign and then read the 2 books in Faith Hunter's spin off series, Soulwood, Blood of the Earth and Curse on the Land. Can't wait for the 3rd one!!

message 36837: by JoAnne (new)

JoAnne Has anyone tried the Greywalker series by Kat Richardson? Greywalker is book 1.

Very good.

message 36838: by Natalie (new)

John Lowe | 2 comments I did the narration for
Romance: Desired By The Werewolf (An Alpha Shapeshifter Romance)
Let me know how you like it, please.

message 36840: by Kayci (new)

Kayci | 9 comments John, thats so cool!

Currently reading The Princess Bride by William Goldman :)

message 36841: by Carolynn (new)

Carolynn (Molly.Groot) Evans (molly_groot) | 11 comments I loved the Greywalker world, but I still have a little lingering annoyance about the first book. Without spoiler-ing it, there is a major event that has no emotional repercussions that makes no sense to me. But the world itself? That she draws from some interesting history and mythologies- love that!

Dresden is wonderful! Easily one of my very favorites. "Polka will never die!?!" :P
