So, Joed, will you be reading on thru the several "Dune" follow ups? Its one helluva classic series!

Art (aka Whistler Reads) (art-whistlerreads) | 30 comments While waiting for my SOS buddy read to start up again, I finished up 2 seasons and associated mid-season episodes, I guess you'd call them of the aforementioned "Rising Storm" continuity. Rate 3 to 4 for hectic entertaining angst.
Followed up with Kathryn Cade's Tyger, Tyger, Burning Bryght and the rest of the Orion series,
Ciana Stone's Southern Comfort and followups Honky Tonk Angels
and Thea Atkinson's Witches of Etlantium a four book "witches and stuff" series.

A book away from an episode of hoarders (fidgit77) | 49 comments I've been marathon reading the Monster Hunter International series. I got the first one as a freebie ages ago and finally decided to pick it up. I'm on the last (for now) one in the series.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed the world and characters. So of course, I had to get all the rest of them immediately.

I liked it enough to buy the follow-up trilogy.

Wish I could figure how to add covers...

Elizabeth Wheeler | 386 comments I just finished reading Robin D. Owen's Feral Magic. I really love Owen's series; Heart Mate, Ghost Seer, and Mystic Circle. The writing is great, the characters and story lines and wonderful, and my favorite part is her characters that are sentient animals that the people can communicate with telepathically. So much fun!

Chessela Helm | 43 comments I'm re-reading the Sookie Stackhouse books. Up to Dead Reckoning. Really enjoying it, but needed to take a break and get back to writing. I think the more I read the more I become Team Eric.

message 36467: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Wheeler | 386 comments Chessela, I also enjoy Stackhouse's other series Harper Connely, Aurora Teagarden, Lily Bard, and Midnight Texas. They aren't as well know, but in many ways they are more fun to read.

message 36468: by Chessela (new)

Chessela Helm | 43 comments Elizabeth - I did the first two Midnight Tx books, just waiting to borrow the third from the library. I'm excited about the new television series of it coming up. I haven't checked out the mysteries yet, but I am going to try to. I think my mom (who is a mysteryholic) will like them at least.

message 36474: by Celestine (new)

Celestine Eternal Darkness (The Amagarians, #1) by Stacy Reid . So good. This is a dark fantasy in an alternate dimension. Complex world-building around a deeply erotic romance. And the fight scenes between the beasts. Wow. I did a review of this book: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Art (aka Whistler Reads) (art-whistlerreads) | 30 comments Finiishing up True North (Aurora Sky Vampire Hunter, #6) by Nikki Jefford .
I've read all but the two shorts, I recommend this series, start with the box set, then finish out with singles... Enjoy!

message 36480: by ♥ Ashleigh ♥ (new)

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) Totally forgot I was listening to Hex and the City (Nightside, #4) by Simon R. Green . Instead I started listening to The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black which was surprisingly good, I was bummed to find out it was a stand alone, I'd love more books with these characters. The narrator did a wonderful job.

I also finished Heart of Steel (Iron Seas, #2) by Meljean Brook IMO better than the first, but the third one looks a little cringy - based off the sample I read, so I'm going to put it off for a while.
And read Truthwitch (The Witchlands, #1) by Susan Dennard not as good as I had hoped but not bad at all, I'll def be reading book 2. Love the characters, and I loved how the two MC's were both females and besties <3

So now I'll either go back to Nightside or When Demons Walk (Sianim, #3) by Patricia Briggs except it's been a while so I wouldn't mind re-reading the series except I don't appear to have Steal the Dragon which is annoying.

Art (aka Whistler Reads) (art-whistlerreads) | 30 comments I just finished Aurora Sky Vampire Hunter Box Set (Books 1-3 + Novella) by Nikki Jefford_ Whiteout (Aurora Sky Vampire Hunter #5) by Nikki Jefford_ Hunting Season (Aurora Sky Vampire Hunter, #4) by Nikki Jefford_ True North (Aurora Sky Vampire Hunter, #6) by Nikki Jefford, with the exception of two added on shorts that weren't in the box. They appeared distracting out of order.

Struggling with my mail-in ballot right now.....don't forget
to VOTE!

The Sentinel (The Sentinel Trilogy Book 1) by Michael Wallace_ Dragon Quadrant (The Sentinel Trilogy Book 2) by Michael Wallace_ Shattered Sun (The Sentinel Trilogy Book 3) by Michael Wallace The Sentinal Trilogy by Michael Wallace will be next.
