Reading

Books 1 and 2 of the series are free right now, too, if any of you are looking for some good PNR:

I've been meaning to read this. What do you think so far??"
This series is beyond fantastic! Brilliantly written and one of the best examples of world building and character development I've ever read. There are NO bad books in this series. Exciting, action-packed, enthralling, humor and excellent dialogue. You won't be disappointed.

Recently just finished

Right now I'm reading

Audiobook

Here are the recent 5 star reads that are not PNR but I recommend them

Totally hooked, I can't put them down, unfortunately the series isn't finished yet

Always worth revisiting Jericho...

Goldingurl,
i'm not sure if u decided what to read next, but if i can be of any help with this comment;
i think Fair Game is the way to go for ur next read. i remember that book being a great surprise in the series. Charles and Anna got closer and the plot in that book was super awesome. I read Dead Ever After and was totally disappointed. the plot was weak and i didn't like that ending. Rev it Up i've never read so i can't give any feedback on that one.
i hope these suggestions give u a better idea on what to read next =D

for a number of reasons I do love charles and want to know more about him and Anna plus i like the fireball he married lol
I also love the mercy-verse i always have

I love this series! The main character cracks me up and it's quite a bit different from her other books, but in a good way

37405 Karen...I recommend you finish out the Toadwitch's series. That's the one that led me to this one. Both were great fun . . . "Tale of three witches" is a cross-over between the two.

super, Goldingurl. u recieved my Fair Game vibes. hehe. i know u'll just love it =D

Over all, pretty good, if you like your fantasy grittier than normal. I grew up on J. R. R. Tolkien, the Dragonlance books, and Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman, but grew out of them eventually (shocker, I know!). So, it's a nice change of pace from the old Sword & Sorcery I'm used to.
Abercrombie definitely keeps a better pace than someone like George R. R. Martin, mainly because you're dealing with only four or so revolving points-of-view. Rather than having five sets of eyes focused on each skirmish, he keeps it to one. He even glosses over whole, unimportant ones by using letters to superiors. Which is great! Also, you don't have to sit through descriptions of meals, or songs. Which, I guess is your loss if you're into that kind of thing.
Over all, I've been pretty happy with it (read over 125 pages last night), but I do have one big complaint: No strong female characters. I just came off reading several books that all passed the Bechdel test with flying colors, and the fact that I'm reading about five male main characters, and one female main character (who has zero traditional female characteristics), is so irritating that I remember why I put the book down in the first place.
But, of course, I'm glad I DID pick it back up, because it's still a good yarn.
