Denise Nanna | 1321 comments Giving Kushiel's Dart (Phèdre's Trilogy, #1) by Jacqueline Carey a second chance. gave up at 16% last time (which is actually pretty far into this long book). So many good reviews of it has made me start over. Here's hoping it sticks this time.

Ah!!! I love it when I find other fans of that series!!! I've been playing around with doing a reread as well.

It's been ages since I read them.

Irene (irenemikhaylova) | 478 comments Finished reading Devil's Business (Black London, #4) by Caitlin Kittredge - it was entertaining :) Also devoured all three of Written in Red (The Others, #1) by Anne Bishop , Murder of Crows (The Others, #2) by Anne Bishop and Vision in Silver (The Others, #3) by Anne Bishop - they were GREAT! and finished Tempting the Beast (Breeds, #1) by Lora Leigh - not much story there :(

Started reading Her Ladyship's Curse (Disenchanted & Co., Book 1, Part #1) by Lynn Viehl - hopefully it's better than the last book.

KritikaB | 103 comments I've finished the first two of the Dragonfury Series Fury of Fire (Dragonfury, #1) by Coreene Callahan Fury of Ice (Dragonfury, #2) by Coreene Callahan . I like the storyline but, sometimes, I got tired of the main characters babbling in their heads. Then I went for Forsworn (The Last Oracle, #2) by Emily Wibberley and I just couldn't put it down. It was so good!!
Now, I'm on A Lion's Pride Series When an Alpha Purrs (A Lion's Pride, #1) by Eve Langlais When A Beta Roars (A Lion's Pride, #2) by Eve Langlais which are pretty entertaining.
I'm waiting for Shadows Strike (Immortal Guardians, #6) by Dianne Duvall . And it is coming out today...Yey!!!!

I hope to get into some PNR soon but these CR are due back to the library sooner.

Cannot judge a book by the cover! Tairn Soul series is such a wonderful surprise...really a series that could use a cover update. I might have skipped if reader buzz was not so good.

Oh, yeah. The cover is baaaaad! But I don't think they'll be updating them anytime soon. Her new series has better art, but it still has a campy vein that fits the Tairen Soul series.

Yeah. At least I could see the big twists and stuff coming so when I had to put it down it didn't feel seem so bad.

Though you'll want some good reading time set aside so you can junk out on the last 100 pages or so.

I keep hearing about twists and I have refused to read ANY reviews about this book for fear of being ruined. I left one of my friends talking to herself the other day when she started in on her comments on it too lol

Oh I will. Tomorrow is my last day of the week working late, then I get out early afternoon Thursday and can wallow in this book and finish it!

I had a hard time picking up Hard Limit (Hacker #4) by Meredith Wild too and remembering where it started. Then I remembered the series name: (Hacker) I think this could have been one book with fewer words, than stretched out over years in installments. I find I appreciate the story less when I pick up a part of the story in a book every 8 months or so. I wish they would publish them a month or two apart if they are going to do that. I hate having to go back and re-read a long story in romance. If it is UF, I don't mind. But this was more a serial romance. It looses a star for that right off the top.

You know, Arielle Rae, I am happy that I ended up starting it again. Once I got used to the writing style and gave up trying to remember who everyone was and where they were from, I really enjoyed the story. Sometimes I got really lost in it. It really is a well written and fantastic story. I dont know whether I will read the next one in the series, but I did enjoy this one.

Katya | 645 comments Those of you who are looking for a really good PNR vampire warrior series that flys under the radar try The Protectors by Teresa Gabelman
Damon (The Protectors, #1) by Teresa Gabelman Jared (The Protectors, #2) by Teresa Gabelman Duncan (The Protectors, #3) by Teresa Gabelman Sid (The Protectors #4) by Teresa Gabelman Adam (The Protectors, #5) by Teresa Gabelman Slade (The Protectors, #6) by Teresa Gabelman A Warrior Wedding (The Protectors, #7) by Teresa Gabelman Jax (The Protectors, #8) by Teresa Gabelman Sloan (The Protectors) by Teresa Gabelman

They are part of the "VC Warriors" who police the world from rogue vampires who might muck up the relationship between humans and vampires. There is a thread which deals with the prejudice, fear and "illegality" of what they call "half breed" vampires. And lots of angst, family drama, and vampires who are just normal people with some extras.

To be a VC warrior you go through a grueling training and test to be imitated,...alot like BDB. Anyway, these books are loaded with lots of romance, sex, action, great characters and funny banter. Each book features a different couple. (Except #6 & 7)
