Brandy *Ahviel* (ahviel) | 257 comments I am curious to know if anyone else has this same problems as myself.
I start a series and of course wait till the next book comes out. However, by the time that book comes out, I have at least 5-10 other book on my self waiting to be read. So do I go out and buy the books that are just released or wait until I am done with what I already have? NEED HELP

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish BrandyS, I have that exact problem. It's horrible.

message 3457: by Corrupt (new)

Corrupt Angel | 6 comments What I do is if it part of a series and i have been waiting it for then I move it to the top of the pile. I figure I have been waiting for it longer then the ones I bought have been sitting there, so It can be read right away.

message 3458: by Brandy *Ahviel* (new)

Brandy *Ahviel* (ahviel) | 257 comments It is a horrible problem. I also have books from the library. Those are the ones i am not sure if I really want to buy the series so I start out there, if they are YAY, then buy, if OK, then i stick with reading the whole series from the library.

So I really do have a stack of at least 20 from library and owned that I need to read. Oh the issues i have. no life right. school, work, motherhood.... blah
Reading...YUMMY

Maybe I should breakdown and instead of buying all of them that came out maybe just one since I have waited to long

message 3459: by Tara (new)

Tara | 596 comments That's the worst! I always feel a little guilty when it happens, but I tend to jump the books to the head of the list. Of course I have books that I picked up on bargain tables or at book sales that have been in my tbr stack for years! It's so bad.

BrandyS I do the same thing and test drive a series I'm uncertain of from the library. But then I feel bad getting books from the library when I have the big tbr pile! It really is a never-ending cycle. Maybe my goal should be to at least read 1 or 2 books from the bottom of that pile a month!

message 3460: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10 comments Well I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem. I just have this obsession with books and I have at least 50 books in the tbr,but as soon as another comes out from a series or author that I love I just have to have it! Am I afraid it's going to go somewhere that I can never get it again?lol It's like I'm worried I might run out. Weird!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish That's me too. And when I see someone recommend a new books, I go and check it out. If it's part of a series, I check the first book and the reviews. If it's good, I go buy it and stick it on the shelf til I have a chance to get to it. You're right though, it's almost as if... what? I'm afraid the stores will stop carrying it? Mostly though, I'm worried I'll forget about it.

message 3462: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10 comments Oh yeah I get the forgetting about it too. That's why I kid you not I have no less then 20 slips of paper at my office,on the fridge,in my wallet and other various places of books I've heard about that I don't want to forget to check out. I do this with music too and had to start writing on the slips of paper book or music or I'd forget what was what.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish UGH, I also have a list of upcoming books on a Word document... here is what mine looks like. And because I am so bad about buying them and sticking them on the shelf, once I buy I cross it out and move it to the bottom so I know I got it already.

message 3469: by Tara (new)

Tara | 596 comments I never thought to make a word document! But I do have a notebook I keep with me to write down books I see in the library or bookstore and just can't get yet, and since I go to 3 library near me (because they never have a whole series) I keep track of which library I saw it in. Then I take my list home and read reviews, check authors and then make a list of the series so I can make sure to read them in order. Then I go through and cross them off as I read them. It's a little obsessive but what can I do.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Yeah, I have separate Word doc folders for each author and their series, with the books listed in order.

message 3471: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments I have a list saved in a memo on my blackberry. And if I go to the store for specific books, I make a new shopping list memo too so when I start getting distracted, I'll remember what I came for!

I also have a tendency, when I find something randomly at the bookstore, to automatically look it up here using my phone. Gives me a feel for whether I should buy it!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I've often wished I had some kind of internet (Good Reads) access while shopping.

message 3473: by new_user (new)

new_user | 1389 comments I've had the same problem! So what I do now is I save my list as a text message draft since I don't have memos or notes on my phone.

This might also be handy: you can text "price Title of the Book by Author" to GOOGLE and shop pricing. This will give you the first three results from online sellers, and usually you can get an idea of the minimum price from this. Nice for those of us that don't have browswers on our phones, LOL.

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments I don't have a computer at home so all my browsing is done via my blackberry pearl. Love it. It's so convenient.

Awh I'm about half way through Vampire Academy at the mo, at it's really good, but I have to admitt, it took about two chapters for me to get into. Although reason being I think is due to the fact that it was just after reading Evermore, which I found an easy read, with that book I read almost half in two hours, and didn't notice. I think it's because you don't really no what's going on until then. - Evermore is a good read though! I'm sure you'll love it.

Depends on how fast you read... And, whether you have any plans for the rest of the day :)

message 3498: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) I can read 50-60 pages an hour that's even with disruptions from kids and stuff. It will take me about 6 hours total really to finish the book, It's just finding the time to sit down and read it LOL, I still have stuff to do around the house, and errands to run.
