I prefer it to the BDB books because it stays pretty consistent with the world-building. My favourite of the five I've read (I've read them out of order!) is this one: Kiss of Crimson (Midnight Breed, #2) by Lara Adrian . It doesn't have the "biggest" plotline, but it has my favourite hero and heroine.

Up next an ARC of The Witch With No Name (The Hollows, #13) by Kim Harrison ... get my final Trent fix ...

I enjoyed My Blood Approves (My Blood Approves, #1) by Amanda Hocking , but for me the series fizzled as it went along. There was just *something* about the first book that drew me in (though I had the same feeling about the Twilight series as well). Sometimes if there's a bit of magic in the first book, it's hard to keep that magic going.

message 33873: by Sonya (new)

Sonya Heaney I finished Midnight Rising (Midnight Breed, #4) by Lara Adrian

I don't know why the relationships have to happen so fast in this series! You're mated for eternity, but you make that commitment after only a few days? And then the women start having babies straight away? What's the rush - you have centuries!

I'm planning to read another one in the series, though. They're strangely addictive.

Irene (irenemikhaylova) | 478 comments Finishing reading Darkness Rises (Immortal Guardians, #4) by Dianne Duvall - Roland is such a prick sometimes. Started reading Obsidian (Lux, #1) by Jennifer L. And listening to Touch the Dark (Cassandra Palmer, #1) by Karen Chance .

Veronica Rosa (veronicadelrosa) Reading Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning . It's taken me almost a month and 15 books in between to finally get to almost half way through this book. I just haven't been able to connect to the main female. Which really sucks since it's first person POV.

I read the first book of this series but can't get myself to pick on the next one.

message 33880: by Veronica (new)

Veronica Rosa (veronicadelrosa) It seriously took me forever to read the first one. I can usually finish a book in a day, but this one. Ugh. Book 2 is starting out much better. I couldn't stand her vapid, shallow personality.

Yes, same here. I usually finish a book in a day or two but I kept putting this book aside to read another one. I could only stand it for so long.
So this book 1 took me forever to finish. And then after I finished it I was all I don't get it... why is this book so hyped up?
It's going to take me a while to pick up book 2.

Veronica this is one of my favorite series of all times. I have to tell you I struggled with book one and as each book came I became more and more addicted.

By the end of book three I was chomping at the bit to read the next book and found the last two of the five books out the very best of the series. In fact, I took a day off from work to read book 5 when it came out.

As you read each book it just gets better and better. I was reading it and had to wait until the next book came out months later and so it was torture waiting. You will see how much the heroine changes as she moves though the books and really grow to love her-I did.

LOVED Dreamfever (Fever, #4) by Karen Marie Moning & Shadowfever (Fever, #5) by Karen Marie Moning !!!!!

Imagine, when you get to the end of Dreamfever having to wait almost a year to find out what happens next. I would hang on the author's website, she had chat boards like this set up for each book...we discussed every theory and debated who-done-it as we waited for the last book to come out.

You're in good hands with this series. In the beginning, I kept comparing it to the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, and it annoyed me. But once I stopped, I enjoyed it immensely. Just picked up its latest release, woohoo!!!

Irene (irenemikhaylova) | 478 comments Katya wrote: "Can't wait for the two new fever books to come out...hope they don't ruin the story."

It's the reason I haven't yet read Iced (Fever, #6) by Karen Marie Moning after Shadowfever (Fever, #5) by Karen Marie Moning -I'm afraid it's not going to be as good. Darkfever was actually the first book which I read in English from the beginning till the end :) And this series was the reason I kept studying English - to be able to read these books when they come out, because for some reason publishers decided not to translate them into Russian?!

Finished A Very Vampy Christmas (Love at Stake, #2.5) by Kerrelyn Sparks - it was interesting and unexpected :) Started reading The Witch With No Name (The Hollows, #13) by Kim Harrison - I so don't want this series to end, but on the other hand I want Rachel and Trent and Ivy and the rest of them to find happiness, or at least peace.

I was not disappointed in Iced at all. It is totally Dani's story, which at first I wasn't thrilled with, but she grows on you :). Plus there is Ryodan. Yeah. The whole Ryodan/Dani thing freaked a lot of people out which is understandable, but KMM didn't cross any lines and in Burned Dani will be 17. Opens all kinds of doors ;-)

Irene I feel the same way....I am waiting for the entire group to be published....I don't want to go through the torment like last time waiting months to see what happened. Plus I am worried it will be a big disappointment. You have to know when to walk away from a masterpiece and call it done.

I trust you Shannon but I am still waiting....lol
