Really enjoyed Hearts in Darkness. I did like Dark Skye--I originally rated it 3 stars but Lanthe's character influenced me to rate it 4 stars. I hope Cole does another were story. Maybe whats-his-name from MacRieve, Munro?

Irene (irenemikhaylova) | 478 comments Finished reading Keeper of the Moon (The Keepers L.A. #2) by Harley Jane Kozak - it was OK if you disregard the whole "you're a young girl and you don't have needed experience so we won't tell you anything to help you find a solution" and listening to Passion Unleashed (Demonica, #3) by Larissa Ione - E and Shade showed their not so good side, starting with how they checked that Serena was still charmed and finishing with not telling Shade that he has a son straightaway. Also finished reading How to Marry a Highlander (Falcon Club, #3.5) by Katharine Ashe - it was very funny to read the Scottish brogue :)

Half through with A Quick Bite (Argeneau #1) by Lynsay Sands - good but not amazing, poor Greg at this point and I don't like Lissianna all that much right now - she's always forgetting about his needs.

Going to start listening to Ecstasy Unveiled (Demonica, #4) by Larissa Ione - I hope Lore gets rid of his master :)

Phe | 22 comments Finished Bite Me (Bitten, #1) by C.C. Wood . A unique twist on the whole vampire genre, Bite Me was a quick, sexy, fun read with a wonderful mix of suspense, hilarious dialogue, erotic heat, and, of course, romance. Think True Blood vs. Sex in the City. Overall, a very enjoyable read. Moving on to book 2 Once Bitten, Twice Shy (Bitten, #2) by C.C. Wood .

Shawn, I finished it last night and I really liked it!! I'm usually a fast reader but this took me much longer than usual with all the different names and trying to keep straight who everyone is! It wasn't what I expected (which was something much more erotic). My husband laughed at me because I kept giving him updates on Phedre.
I hope to read the next book soon and I'm very happy to see it isn't quite as long as this one.

I'm reading Damon (The Protectors, #1) by Teresa Gabelman now. Needed something short and easy.

Yes, no question, it isn't an easy read. There is a lot of social structure for which we have no point of reference. But, it is still one of the best series I have ever had the pleasure to read.

Yeah, you should .. I wasn't a big fan of the first book either (as with many series) but these books are pretty funny too .. Margarite is a scream and many of the other characters throughout the series provide some pretty good comic relief.

Irene (irenemikhaylova) | 478 comments Finished listening to Ecstasy Unveiled (Demonica, #4) by Larissa Ione - loved it, but Shade and Wraith continue to grate on my nerve! message 33778: by Shannon (new)

Shannon | 65 comments Finished Rapture (Fallen Angels, #4) by J.R. Ward . This series gets better as it goes. At first it was hard keeping up but Ward has a way of not revealing all the cards and just giving you enough information to keep you going. Eventually it all falls together and that is finally happening.
Now reading Up From the Grave (Night Huntress #7) by Jeaniene Frost . I really have missed Bones.

Karma♥Bites ^.~ (karma_bites) | 62 comments Black Rook (Cornerstone Run Trilogy, #1) by Kelly Meade Just finished Black Rook by Kelly Meade (PNR alter ego for Kelly Meding). Been a while since my last Dreg City book so nice to return to this author w/ this quick, enjoyable read. I personally consider this a PNR/UF hybrid. And given trilogy setup, the romance is stand-alone (1 couple per book) but the series arc is on-going = some things left unresolved @ end. Definitely planning on continuing w/ book #2, Gray Bishop.

The Temple Dogs by Warren Murphy Gonna start The Temple Dogs whilst I finalise challenge reads.

ETA: Haha, just realised that this is different thread. Just saw Mitabird's post & followed. :)

message 33792: by ✩Tiffany✩ (last edited Aug 20, 2014 12:37AM) (new)

✩Tiffany✩ (_tiffany_) Lots of sci-fi ever since I discovered SE Smith S.E. Smith (She is a wonderful person! I chatted with her a few times over FB). She writes sci-fi with a mix of fantasy and paranormal so it's a good starting point for people who are reluctant to read sci-fi. Her females are often feisty and/or strong (physical, smarts, or skills, etc) with great alpha male heroes... this is starting to look like I'm advertising her~ I'm not really! I just really like her books especially since they're the ones that got me interested in reading sci-fi.

Other books I'm reading:
- Got audiobook version of one of my favourite trilogy from Nora Roberts - Key trilogy collection (Key trilogy #1-3) and I'm "re-reading" them right now.

- Ilona Andrews 2nd book to Clean Sweep.. or the chapters that are being released on their blog and I'm about to read the latest Kate Daniels

- Viola Grace Viola Grace for some light sci-fi reading, she has a mix of PG13 and erotica.

ok I'll stop writing now...
