Twinsmom2007 | 6 comments Just finished Black City. It wasn't bad but it didn't hold my interest enough to read the next book in the series.

message 33505: by Christine (new)

Christine | 1127 comments I made it through 100 pages of Sixth Grave on the Edge (Charley Davidson, #6) by Darynda Jones , but I'm giving up. I have never been a Reyes fan, but he and I finally must part ways. (view spoiler) And maybe the fact that I don't even like Reyes is causing me to be overly critical of that scene, but as soon as I read it, I knew I couldn't continue the book. Maybe some day. I am curious about Mr Wong now.

message 33506: by Christine (new)

Christine | 1127 comments I listened to Cold Days (The Dresden Files, #14) by Jim Butcher and moved right along to Skin Game (The Dresden Files, #15) by Jim Butcher . I've missed Harry, but I really missed Mouse!

In print, I'm reading The Burning Bridge (Ranger's Apprentice, #2) by John Flanagan

message 33507: by Cyndel (new)

Claudia Ayala (claudia_ayala) | 149 comments I love Reyes, but Sixth Grave on the Edge (Charley Davidson, #6) by Darynda Jones isn’t the best book of the series.

message 33511: by Claudia (last edited Jun 17, 2014 03:15PM) (new)

Claudia Ayala (claudia_ayala) | 149 comments Psy/Changeling is my favorite series. Loved Shield of Winter (Psy-Changeling, #13) by Nalini Singh , but it wasn’t as awesome as Heart of Obsidian (Psy-Changeling, #12) by Nalini Singh
.

message 33512: by Claudia (new)

Claudia Ayala (claudia_ayala) | 149 comments Just finished Bone Crossed (Mercy Thompson, #4) by Patricia Briggs .
Many reviewers prefer Patricia Brigg´s Mercy Thompson Series than Alpha & Omega Series, but I didn’t. In fact, for now, I’m giving up on the rest of the Mercy Thompson books and moving to new series.

Claudia, Bone Crossed wasn't one of my favorites either. i gave it 3stars. the others were either 4 or 5stars. i like both series, but i will say i prefer the bond Charles and Anna have and that it didn't take as long for them to connect. i wish Mercy and Adam were like that. but, i'm a super partial to romance. not sure if that is ur issue with Mercy's series, but i hope one day u get back to it.

Domino, you’re right, that’s exactly the problem. Also, I felt that some important events for the characters are taken too lightly. (Poor English to explain myself ;)).

message 33518: by Christine (last edited Jun 18, 2014 10:17AM) (new)

Christine | 1127 comments I recently finished The Burning Bridge (Ranger's Apprentice, #2) by John Flanagan which was actually really good. I'm not sure what age group this is geared toward, but I was really sucked in from about the halfway mark through to the end. And of course, with that ending I have to read the next one soon.

I also just finished listening to Skin Game (The Dresden Files, #15) by Jim Butcher and I thoroughly enjoyed this one. But, now I'm kind of depressed that I'm all caught up and don't have any more to read.

Up next in audio is Treachery in Death (In Death, #32) by J.D. Robb but I don't know what I'll read in print.

Shuling DNF : You Slay Me (Aisling Grey Guardian, #1) by Katie MacAlister .
Finished : What Kills Me (What Kills Me, #1) by Wynne Channing which was just okay. Kindling the Moon (Arcadia Bell, #1) by Jenn Bennett which was fantastic. The Eternity Cure (Blood of Eden, #2) by Julie Kagawa which left me gasping for air while hoping that the gaping hole in my heart would heal with time...and lots of chocolate.
Now reading : Fifth Grave Past the Light (Charley Davidson, #5) by Darynda Jones because I've denied my Charley fix long enough.

message 33532: by Sassy Sarah Reads (last edited Jun 20, 2014 11:48AM) (new)

Sassy Sarah Reads It's been a LONG time since I posted on here. I've finished Days of Blood & Starlight (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #2) by Laini Taylor (best book of the trilogy), Dreams of Gods & Monsters (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #3) by Laini Taylor (great conclusion to this trilogy!), Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour (surprisingly good), Hopeless (Hopeless, #1) by Colleen Hoover (also shocked by this one and I enjoyed it a lot), Daimon (Covenant, #0.5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout (love JLA and I bought Half-Blood immediately after reading Daimon), Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter, #1) by J.K. Rowling (so good and I enjoyed it immensely), Oedipus the King by Sophocles (listened to the audiobook and it was fun), Clipped Wings (Clipped Wings, #1) by Helena Hunting (I struggled with this book, but the ending pulled through), Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Harry Potter, #2) by J.K. Rowling (this one was a lot of fun, not as good as the first, but definitely better than the movie), The Devil's Reprise (Devils, #2) by Karina Halle (I loved The Devil's Metal and this book was fantastic!), Between the Cracks (Clipped Wings, #1.5) by Helena Hunting (it was decent), Letting Ana Go by Anonymous (really disappointed in this one), Moonfall Tales from the Levant by Vanessa Morton (read this for a blog tour and it was good, but there was a lot of name dropping), Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Harry Potter, #3) by J.K. Rowling (really loved this one), Confessions of a Murder Suspect (Confessions, #1) by James Patterson (listened to the audiobook and enjoyed this one a lot), Black Beast (Shadow Thane, #1) by Nenia Campbell (I love Nenia's writing and stories, read this in one day), and The Camelot Code by Mari Mancusi (this one was okay).
I'm currently reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter, #4) by J.K. Rowling (favorite book so far), East of Eden by John Steinbeck (reading this for school and I'm enjoying it), Inked Armour (Clipped Wings, #2) by Helena Hunting (a lot better than the first book), Radiant (Towers Trilogy #1) by Karina Sumner-Smith (only read the first chapter but I love the concept), and The One Safe Place by Tania Unsworth (just started this one and it's odd).

message 33535: by Irene (new)

Irene (irenemikhaylova) | 478 comments Finished Kiss of Snow (Psy-Changeling, #10) by Nalini Singh and it was great. Singh kept me up two nights in a row! All the suspence and I so couldn't predict what Sienna's powers will do to others. I especially liked Drew's comment ;)

Next one is Darkness Dawns (Immortal Guardians, #1) by Dianne Duvall .

Finished Fifth Grave Past the Light (Charley Davidson, #5) by Darynda Jones and I was too giddy to fall back asleep at 2 in the morning. Now reading Cracked (Soul Eater, #1) by Eliza Crewe .

message 33541: by Christine (new)

Christine | 1127 comments Finished The Icebound Land (Ranger's Apprentice, #3) by John Flanagan . Even though it mainly felt like a transition book to set up whatever is going to happen next, I really enjoyed it. Love Halt. Since I'm wait-listed at the library for book four, I started Alien Research (Katherine "Kitty" Katt, #8) by Gini Koch . I think I'm finally in a Kitty mood again.

Listening to Pooka in My Pantry (Monster Haven, #2) by R.L. Naquin which is kind of meh for me. I have issues with how a certain situation has been dealt with in this series, so I think it's not a good series for me and I'll probably let it drop once I finish this one.

Oh yeah, Jaci Burton's books are very hot stuff. I love the Play By Play series. I just finished a Hope novel but did not seem to have the same steam, but still a good read. Hope Flames (Hope #1) by Jaci Burton

Nina (msralways) | 528 comments Already done with Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander, #1) by Karen Marie Moning and it totally rocked my world. The main reason why I didn't start this series earlier was because the Fever series only started getting good by Dreamfever and I thought this one was going to be the same. Thank God I was wrong. The story, setting, character development were all amazing and I found this to be quite similar to Kristen Ashley's Fantasyland series, which is awesome!
