I finished this today and I didn't like it near as much as I did the second time around. It was just ok this time and I was mostly bored with it. I'm in no hurry now to read the rest. Not sure what's next.

I'm about to start Bad Girls Don't Die (Bad Girls Don't Die, #1) by Katie Alender , Dark Places by Gillian Flynn and rounded out with Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye (Psychic Eye Mystery, #1) by Victoria Laurie on audio.

message 33356: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (aurorapixi) | 187 comments Since the last time I posted I finished To Tame A Highland Warrior (Highlander #2) by Karen Marie Moning which I liked better than the first one. Since then I finished A Sand County Almanac; with essays on conservation from Round River by Aldo Leopold for school. Leopold has a unique perspective that really makes you think. It was a very interesting read. After that I finished Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops by Jen Campbell which was okay. It's a fast read and something that might be enjoyable while sitting at the doctors office. It made me laugh a bit. Now I am reading The Highlander's Touch (Highlander, #3) by Karen Marie Moning and The Epigenetics Revolution by Nessa Carey . So far so good. I can't say the highlander series is my favorite though. To much male dominance style romance. Makes me cringe.

Shaineinok | 203 comments I read Blood Oath (Nathaniel Cade, #1) by Christopher Farnsworth today. I really enjoyed it. It's a vampire secret agent book.

The male dominance part stays but the series get's much better as it goes (Highlander I mean)

Rachel | 192 comments Currently enjoying Froi of the Exiles (Lumatere Chronicles, #2) by Melina Marchetta and Bound by Night (MoonBound Clan Vampire, #1) by Larissa Ione amongst a few other side reads.

I think I prefer Ione's Demonica series to this newer one.

message 33361: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) Since I last posted on here I have read Daughter by Jane Shemilt (got 25% into it and gave up as it was getting so many twists and turns).

Then read Exquisite Betrayal by A.M. Hargrove (which I absolutely loved)

Then I've been reading Dirty Nights, Part One by Emerson St.Clair & Dirty Nights Part Two by Emerson St. Clair (which I am finding rather intriguing with the way the characters are a mess in their heads and stuff), I'm reading Dirty Nights Part Three by Emerson St. Clair at the moment.

message 33362: by Jamie (new)

Jamie (epic_lover) | 13 comments Just finished reading the Lux series and I really looking for my next great read... so far I am testing out Storm (Elemental, #1) by Brigid Kemmerer and Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick but can't really decide.

message 33363: by Nancie (new)

Nancie Paz (nanciepaz) | 15 comments I started reading the Rylee Adamson series because I wanted to see why this author is having so much success. I have a few books published and they're doing quite well. I'm definitely selling way more than I expected, sO I wanted to check another author out and study their craft.

I was surprised and a bit disappointed. Basic grammar mistakes; weird sentences; a strange and random plot. Quite the enigma. But the actual book is fairly good. Shannon writes well--it's just that the botched editing threw me for a loop. I would never release a book with such simple errors.

But overall I would recommend it. Not my cup of tea and I don't think I will be reading the rest of the books. All these creatures showing out of nowhere just doesn't do it for me. ¡

I loved the wall part!! And I did enjoy this book, although I found that the few before it were better, it's still an enjoyable addition to the series!

Sillylittlefishey | 1025 comments I just finished my ARC of Branded (The Cavanaugh Brothers, #1) by Laura Wright , it wasn't PNR/UF by any means but it was a nice way to spend a few days as I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Now off for a bit more smut with Nauti Enchantress (Nauti Girls, #2) by Lora Leigh ... I have not read any of her nauti books so I hope I won't be too lost:)

Goodreads have suggested series' like Vampire Kisses (Ellen Schreiber) and Vampire Acadamy (Rochelle Mead)-think I spelt that right.

This post is about which series any of you have read-or maybe any similar? I would love suggestions; would be a huge help!

Love and hugs from Belfast! Xo

Fallon (fallonvale) | 255 comments OK, I finished listening to Blood Bound (Mercy Thompson, #2) by Patricia Briggs a week or so ago and started listening to Altered (Altered, #1) by Jennifer Rush , I think I would have prefered actually reading this one but I'm almost finished with it. I finished reading Rush (Breathless, #1) by Maya Banks and it was not my favorite Maya Banks book, it just didn't interest me that much. I'm starting The Immortal Crown (Age of X, #2) by Richelle Mead .

Christy (christy_kennedy) | 184 comments Wrapped up Sixth Grave on the Edge (Charley Davidson, #6) by Darynda Jones last Sunday and loved it. Started to get a little annoyed with Charley in this one - way too much ADD, but considering there were 3-4 storylines flying everywhere, well....Charley is being Charley. Lol! Love this series and can't wait until Seventh Grave and No Body (Charley Davidson, #7) by Darynda Jones 10/1/14. Now waiting on the next book in the Psy/Changling series - Shield of Winter (Psy-Changeling, #13) by Nalini Singh . Excellent series as well.

Katie Long (katiedelong) | 1 comments Working through Jim Butcher's Dresden Files, bit by bit. I haven't started book 3 yet. I gotta say, though, I'm having a hard time getting past all of the benevolent sexism and the weird obsession with describing his female char's bodies so much more than the mens. It's like my dad wrote a book. I read it, and here the same old grumbles about rude feminists and female athletes, and women in dangerous fields. *headdesk*

Lucinda Turk (thebookcaseblurb) | 2 comments Killing Rocks (The Bloodhound Files, #3) by D.D. Barant
(N.B. This is the third book in the Bloodhound Files series)
This is not the first (nor will it be the last) time that I have read the Bloodhound files.
Set in an alternate reality the series follows Jace Valchek a criminal profiler from our world/ reality that one night is yanked from her bed to another reality and then forced into hunting down a killer in order to return to her own world.
I won't say anymore about the plot line other than this: I don't want her to return! I admit to not having read all 6 of the books as of yet however the mere thought of her returning to our world makes me sad. The series is jammed packed with loveable, despicable, comical and clever characters that every reader will connect with in some way or another.
Would recommend to fans of Kate Daniels, Shiarra Waynest etc.

Christine | 1127 comments I don't think I've posted for a while. I've caught up in two series and finished Wulfe Untamed (Feral Warriors, #8) by Pamela Palmer Enslaved (Eternal Guardians, #5) by Elisabeth Naughton Bound (Eternal Guardians, #6) by Elisabeth Naughton . I've never quite connected with the Feral Warriors series like I have some others, but it was still an enjoyable series and I'm enjoying the Eternal Guardians much more as the series progresses. I really didn't like that second book.

And I've tried some new series with The Ghost and the Goth (The Ghost and the Goth, #1) by Stacey Kade which was a fun, quick read with a bit of a darker undercurrent than I was expecting. And The Ruins of Gorlan (Ranger's Apprentice, #1) by John Flanagan which I really enjoyed.

I finally got around to reading Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky, #2) by Veronica Rossi and have started Into the Still Blue (Under the Never Sky, #3) by Veronica Rossi . Another series almost done!

And I listened to Shadow's Claim (The Dacians, #1) by Kresley Cole which I enjoyed very much and I just started listening to MacRieve (Immortals After Dark, #13) by Kresley Cole . I do so love Robert Petkoff's narration of this series. I amazed at all the different voices and accents he manages in each book.
