Maddy Barone (maddybarone) | 74 comments Night Broken (Mercy Thompson, #8) by Patricia Briggs I just love this thread. I find some really great reads from you all. I'm reading the new Mercy Thompson. I'm only about a third through it and I'm not sure how I feel. It seems sort of disorganized. There are a a couple of different things going on that don't seem to fit together. That is not sto say I'm not enjoying it! I love Mercy Thompson! I jsut feel like my attention is being divided by various threads. Anyone else feel that way?

I'm home from work and about to jump back in! I love it (and HATE it!) when I have a good book to come home to. Hate because I'd rather be home reading instead of waiting to get off the job! :)

Irene (irenemikhaylova) | 478 comments Started listening to The Darkest Craving (Lords of The Underworld, #10) by Gena Showalter but the narrator was so not what I would have wanted, so I out it aside for a while. And turned to listening to Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead - the reading is so much brighter and the rises and downs of the voice are umch better :)

I LOVED the entire story Rachel. And yes, I can see why both Evanjalin and Froi would come off in a negative light. But I thought that due to what their characters went through (although everyone went through stuff in the story) their actions fit their characters well. I can only imagine what it must have been like for Evanjalin living day to day with all of that on her. And Froi, what an interesting character, which I'm sure we'll find out the why's of his nature and experiences in book 2, but from his actions and thoughts in book 1, he just lived acting on primal instinct, just doing whatever to survive and what he knew, to get by and simply survive. As he said "she and I are alike, we do whatever needs to be done because the important thing is to stay alive". Like I said, I'm totally in love with this story, characters, writing, EVERYTHING. Can't wait to get to book 2 :)

Love this series. I just listened to Skin Deep (I-Team, #5.5) by Pamela Clare which was pretty good for a novella. Now I'm starting Striking Distance (I-Team, #6) by Pamela Clare . Then I guess I just have to wait for the next one to be released. : (

message 32881: by Christine (new)

Christine | 1127 comments Also, reading Night Broken (Mercy Thompson, #8) by Patricia Briggs . I absolutely hate the plot line with Christy, but I kind of like how Mercy is handling it. She's being so disgustingly mature about so far, at least in front of the pack. But I just don't get the rest of the pack (view spoiler)

I've been trying to space out the books in order to savor them a little bit. Rumor has it that Showalter's writing style changes quite a bit towards the end of the series

Since my last post, I've read
Thunderbird Falls (Walker Papers, #2) by C.E. Murphy Circle of Death by Keri Arthur Circle of Desire (Damask Circle,#3) by Keri Arthur Sparrows For Free by Lila Felix The Dark Gate (The Esri, #1) by Pamela Palmer Murder of Crows (The Others, #2) by Anne Bishop The Eyre Affair (Thursday Next #1) by Jasper Fforde .

Currently reading a vampire novel, Flesh and Blood by Daniel Dersch .

I also have Night Broken (Mercy Thompson, #8) by Patricia Briggs on hand. But I'm hesitant to read it. I'm not in the mood for any sort of angst right now. Adam and Mercy used to be one of my favourite book couples. I'm just not ready to soil that image right now. Seems a crazy reason, huh?
