I found it unexpectedly good for the YA genre. The reviews on the last two books were brutal so I expected to be let down but I was not at all. Very enjoyable series!

I love writers that have detailed subplots that eventually lead into other novels. I do that in my Egyptian god series. I've downloaded five of her novels and I'm enjoying every moment of them

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) I'm about to start 'Divergent' don't know if it's paranormal. Looks a bit like it and I get the feeling it's definitely dystopian. it's part of a 'no-synopsis' challenge

I love that you just posted something about this book! Some of Kenyon's books are on sale on Amazon for $1.99 today and I was trying to get an idea if they were any good. Some of the Amazon reviews are pretty low but I trust the ladies of this group more ;)

message 31142: by Jacqueline (new)

Jacqueline Farrell I've just finished the Twilight Novels - enjoyed the first, but found the others progressively more difficult to get on board with. I'm not the target group (52 years) which I suspect doesn't help, but also found the stuff with the werewolves imprinting on baby girls a bit uncomfortable. I'm halfway through the Sookie Stackhouse novels which I love, but am wondering if 12 novels is a bit too much. Also really enjoying the Presidents Vampire - Nathaniel Cade series - does this count as a paranormal romance? He's not very friendly!

message 31143: by Christy (new)

Christy (christy_kennedy) | 184 comments Just finished Magic Rises (Kate Daniels #6) by Ilona Andrews - WOW!!!!! What a book! Kicked my ass six ways to Sunday and left me wanting more. Exhilarating, action-packed, raw intensity, brilliant story line and dialogue, I never get tired of my two favorite people - Kate & Curran. Hate that we have to wait until next year for Magic Breaks. Argh!!!

Oh well.....but NOW...on to Midnight Frost (Mythos Academy, #5) by Jennifer Estep . :)

Thanks! I was trying to figure out what (if any) order the books had to be read. I picked up the first four... It seems like people like the earlier books better?

Ninab (Honesty is the Best Policy) | 137 comments Finished Forged in Blood II (The Emperor's Edge, #7) by Lindsay Buroker - ★★★★★. Fantastic end to a fantastic series though I'm sad it's over. First book in the series is free if you want to give it a try - I definitely recommend it!

She gets into more Native Amercan mythology later and just as you've got the Greek stuff down, it's a lot of terminology to keep track of.
Personally, I like the books that have less overwhelming odds and end with the characters still immortal in some way. I've never been one for the huge series long plot arcs or giving up immortality for a regular life. After all if I wanted to read about normal people, I'd watch the news *g*
