They aren't really shifters Gemma. They are genetically altered humans with animal DNA. They have the traits of animals but they don't actually shift. They are born from science not magic. It's a good story though

Started reading Beautiful Bastard and I have to say I'm really liking it! I was a little worried to read this one since I HATED the Fifty Shades trilogy, but this is way better! I usually hate reading in first person, but I'm enjoying the strength of both of these characters.

Yeah, Incubus Dreams was pretty bad, but I did like Danse Macarbe, the book that turned me off series for a while was . I made the mistake checking the audiobook out of the library to listen to at work. If you think reading bad over-long sex scenes is hard, try listening to them. I soldiered on because had to know what happened to Marmee Noir but refused to buy them until surprised me by having Anita *gasp* raising the dead again. Except for the series has stayed on track.

I read , in an effort to get to the latest book, Lover at Last, in an sequential manner. Now I'm not sure it's such a rush for me.
My biggest disappointment was the use of one word mentioned THREE times in the book -- conversating. There is converse, conversing, conversation. A big UGH! i understand words like Xhex, whard, Rhage. But we are talking English here.
So hate me for being a stickler.

Just finished Sorcha Grace's book. 50 shades meets 9 1/2 weeks but less damage/dysfunction. Hot stuff.
