Susan (Suz) (sharney) | 253 comments Well so far I'm leaning toward jumping right into O.B., then I'll read the next BDB, then I HAVE to read the next Night Huntress, I seriously need to catch up on that series....

message 2906: by Ann (new)

Ann Noell (fantasyannie) I'm reading FaeFever, but I just can't make myself finish it until DreamFever comes out on Aug. 18th. I know it does not end well for Mac. I think if I can go from Faefever right into Dreamfever I can deal with it better. I'm such a romantic, I need my happy ending.

message 2907: by Nita (new)

When I read Faefever last year, I couldn't believe I would have to wait a year to find out what happens after an ending like that. I am really looking forward to Dreamfever.

message 2908: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Borland (kgborland) I've Darkfever and BLoodfever but I heard that faefever ends badly so I decided to wait :P

message 2909: by Susan (Suz) (new)

Susan (Suz) (sharney) | 253 comments So finished Blue Moon! GREAT book, I think it's my fav so far, even tho started out really annoyed with Anita!:) So I did decide to jump right into Obsidian Butterfly! :) I'm with Lauren only just at the beginning and Edward is a sneaky little bugger :)

message 2910: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Borland (kgborland) lol, i hope you guys like it :D

message 2911: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Kyle - Ilona Andrews:

Magic Bites
Magic Burns
Magic Strikes

Cool Urban Fantasy with lots of action. The first one is a bit rough to start because of the world building, but once you get what's what, you'll want to keep reading!

Sandy | 449 comments I just finished Sucker for Love by Kimberly Raye and am starting Skinwalker by Faith Hunter

message 2914: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Salaiz (jennifersalaiz) | 1 comments I just finished Skin Trade tonight. I loved the Anita Blake series. I was practically devouring a novel a day. I was hooked. Going to be starting LKH's other series next. (Merry Gentry, I believe)

message 2915: by Ruth (new)

Ruth Violet | 20 comments well last night i finished dead sexy-amanda ashley. excellent book btw. and today i am gonna finish vampire kisses:vampireville-ellen schreiber.maybe tonight.

message 2916: by Willow (new)

Willow Brook | 47 comments Half-way through Hot Spell, but so far have only liked Lora Leigh's entry.

message 2917: by Shannon (last edited Aug 02, 2009 01:05PM) (new)

Shannon (theholyterror) | 313 comments I had started Swallowing Darkness (Meredith Gentry, #7) by Laurell K. Hamilton on 8/1 but I got a little bored with it so I started [image error] last night. I have to say that I absolutely love Georgina and her friends and I stayed up way too late reading again.

message 2918: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Borland (kgborland) I won a contest!! I won a copy of Evermore :D

Anyways I'm reading Poison Study

message 2919: by Melissa (new)

Melissa That's awesome, Kyle. I read that last month and I really liked it. I'll be watching to see how you like Poison Study. I haven't seen much on here either way.

I'm reading Zen and the Art of Vampires by Katie MacAlister and I have to say, it's kind of bad. I didn't really like the one before this and I was hoping this would be better, but I'm thinking it's not going to be. What has happened? I used to love her Dark Ones books, but I either the writing has gotten worse or my standards for vamps has gone up. I'm going to keep on reading though.

message 2920: by Willow (new)

Willow Brook | 47 comments Finished Hot Spell. Really liked Lora Leigh's story and also liked Shiloh Walker's. Now restlessly waiting for Bengal's Heart.

message 2921: by FlibBityFLooB (new)

FlibBityFLooB Just finished Destined for an Early Grave (Night Huntress, #4) by Jeaniene Frost . It was SOOOOOO good. I highly recommend it. Lots of twists and turns :)

message 2922: by Wendy-Lynn (new)

Wendy-Lynn Just started the Carrie Vaughn "Kitty" series. I like it so far. Has anyone else read this series?

message 2923: by Gems (new)

Gems (zadien) | 134 comments I'm almost finished Lover Avenged and am now looking for another paranormal series but I'm not too hopeful... :(

message 2924: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) I started Destined for an Early Grave last night. Bones *sigh*.

LilMisGrayBrisk | 502 comments I'm currently reading Howl at the Moon by Christine Warren. It's pretty good.

message 2926: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 371 comments My copy of Bad Moon Rising arrived today. Putting the boys to bed then I will be reading it. I'm all excited! LOL!

message 2927: by Shannon (last edited Aug 03, 2009 12:00PM) (new)

Shannon (theholyterror) | 313 comments Started both One Foot in the Grave (Night Huntress, #2) by Jeaniene Frost and Poison Sleep (Marla Mason, #2) by T.A. Pratt last night. I read the first chapter of One Foot in the Grave and I couldn't remember what happened in the last book. Kind of a bummer. Poison Sleep on the other hand started off with a bang. Marla is so foulmouthed and funny it's hilarious.

message 2928: by Susan (Suz) (new)

Susan (Suz) (sharney) | 253 comments Kyle wrote: "lol, i hope you guys like it :D"

Well i'm only about 230 some pages in and so far I'm underwhelmed!! I sure hope it picks up soon! At this point I would have to say it's my least favorite....

Jennifer (jnhart) Wendy wrote: "Just started the Carrie Vaughn "Kitty" series. I like it so far. Has anyone else read this series?"

I've read all the ones that are out so far. They're pretty good. The next one (Kitty's House of Horrors) comes out in January.

I just finished Magic Strikes (Kate Daniels #3). It was really good. I like this series a lot and can't wait for the next book to come out.

I'm getting ready to start Frostbite (Vampire Academy #2) and The Dark Mirror. I've heard a lot of good things about the Chronicles of Bridei, so I've got high expectations. Oh - the library called today and I've got another Mercy Thompson book waiting on me - Iron Kissed.

message 2931: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 208 comments I finished Obsidian Butterfly it was just ok for me. i liked the last 100 pages of it. it gets a 3stars from me. Im gonna take a break from Anita now. I read all them right after the other.
i started Bad Moon Risinglast night. im trying to savor the book and read it a little slower.

Obsidian Butterfly was my least favorite book. Edward is okay but I don't like him enough to enjoy an entire book about him. They get better from here.

yeah it was like all about Edward/Ted and his secrets. it was kinda boring until the end. I will continue and im excited for the next book but I have some other books that I want to read and catch up on those series too.

message 2934: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Borland (kgborland) Acheron!! Finally..and the first part made me cry..lol

Kyle Borland (kgborland) I just bought Bad moon rising and I cant wait :D

Charlotte (Buried in Books) | 386 comments I just started Guilty Pleasures - it's so much better than Sookie.

message 2939: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 208 comments Charlotte wrote: "I just started Guilty Pleasures - it's so much better than Sookie."

i second that!

message 2940: by Lori (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) I'm reading Crossing Borders. I love this author. The writing is crisp, funny and hot. "Sparky" is refreshing as a 19 year old physics major who is so smart, confident and not at all intimidated by this older lover, 27 year old cop Michael.

message 2941: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) I am finally reading Vampire Academy. So good!

Charlotte (Buried in Books) | 386 comments ~♡кαтιє♡~ wrote: "av just started the 1st of the sookie stackhouse and like it, so wots guilty pleasures about?"

It's the first Anita Blake (Vampire Hunter) book. Everyone keeps talking about them on here, so I finally gave in and tried it. I really struggled with the first Sookie Stackhouse book - she whines way too much and nothing much seemd to happen - Anita is much more action based, with a wicked sense of humour.

message 2943: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Sermeno (twitterpated) | 5 comments The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards. It's not paranormal-at least I don't think so, I'm only on chapter 3.

message 2944: by Jessa (new)

Jessa Slade (jessaslade) | 114 comments Just started Jacqueline Carey's NAAMAH'S KISS [image error] . I'm liking this right off, almost as much as I liked the first, KUSHIEL'S DART. Plus, it's a big hefty book. I love big books :)

message 2945: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) I finished Vampire Academy and am now on to Mark of the Demon and then Thorn Queen.

message 2946: by Rachel (Sfogs) (new)

Rachel (Sfogs) | 11 comments Vampire Interrupted by Lynsay Sands. Adopt one today! ((Please click on cute egg and help it grow!))

message 2947: by Barbara (new)

Barbara | 7 comments I'm on book six of the series by Lara Adrian about Vampire warriors. It does remind me of the BDB series but the characters are interesting enough to keep reading. I'll be finished this book today.

I'll be starting book three of the Final Prophecy series by Jessica Andersen (Sky Keepers) today. Loved the first 2 in the series. Really interesting story regarding the Mayan calander and the warriors trying to stop the end of the world in 2012.

message 2948: by Starling (new)

Starling I'm reading Magic Strikes (Kate Daniels #3) right now. I think it is the best of the series so far and I liked the other two a lot.

Definitely my favorite too. She's starting another series. On the Edge comes out at the end of September.
