Hadn't heard of that one yet, but just pulled up the excerpt. I have such a hard time with first-person tales, I have no idea why. I have to fight with myself to make myself read them, though I have read a few shorts written in that style that I enjoyed.

Hi Heather, I don't mind first person, when it's done right it's like 3D reading, You feel like you are inside their head living their adventure. I'm on page 100 and it's not getting any better. I can predict that Violet is going to fall in love with Kaspar. However they are both so dull, I can't read on!

The problem is probably that my first 'first-person' read was 50 Shades, and I will probably catch a lot of heat, but I hated that freaking book. Not the content, I can handle that, but the writing...drove me nuts. Probably scarred me for life and makes me run the other way when I see first-person prose. ;)

I've read a lot of first person books ( Riley Jenson, Cat and Bones to name a few) but she just ruined it with Fifty Shades... I couldn't get through it either but there are a lot of really well Done first Person books out there :)
